Edmonton airport limo: a pre-booked ride from YEG
An Edmonton airport limo from LimousineCanada.ca is a reserved black-car transfer between Edmonton International Airport (YEG) and wherever you are going in the capital region or beyond. You book on our own booker, we follow your flight, and a chauffeur is on the arrivals level when you clear customs or collect your bags. Nothing about the pickup depends on how many other flights landed at the same time.
The first thing to understand about YEG is geography. The airport is not in the city. It sits in Leduc County, opposite the city of Leduc and close to the Nisku industrial area, on Highway 2 about 30 kilometres south of downtown Edmonton, and the airport's own directions put a normal drive at about 30 minutes. That distance is why a pre-arranged car matters more here than at an airport ten minutes from downtown: a missed connection with a taxi or a long wait for a ride-app driver costs real time, and a rental car adds parking and winter driving to a trip you may only want to take once.
This page covers where to meet, what the airport's own taxi and limousine rates are, how the 747 bus compares, what a drive to West Edmonton Mall, Sherwood Park, St. Albert, Red Deer or Jasper costs, and how winter changes the picture.
How much is a limo from Edmonton airport?

A limo from Edmonton International Airport to downtown Edmonton, about 30 km away, costs $145–$175 in an Executive Sedan, $180–$220 in a Luxury SUV and $295–$355 in an Executive Sprinter, before tax. West Edmonton Mall is about $180–$210 by sedan. Your exact all-in fare appears in the online booker.
Our price is a per-kilometre rate with a minimum transfer, so the 30 km downtown run sits at the minimum. Trips beyond the city scale with distance. Gratuity is at your discretion, and the booker shows the final fare for the exact address before you confirm.
| Trip from YEG | Distance / typical drive | Executive Sedan | Luxury SUV | Executive Sprinter |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Downtown Edmonton / Rogers Place | about 30 km / about 30 min | $145–$175 | $180–$220 | $295–$355 |
| West Edmonton Mall | about 38 km / 35–40 min | $180–$210 | $225–$270 | $315–$375 |
| Sherwood Park | about 38 km / 35–40 min | $180–$210 | $225–$270 | $315–$375 |
| St. Albert | about 45 km / 40–50 min | $210–$250 | $265–$315 | $375–$445 |
| Red Deer | about 120 km / about 80 min | $555–$670 | $705–$850 | $990–$1,185 |
| Jasper | about 370 km / about 4 hr | $1,720–$2,055 | $2,170–$2,610 | $3,055–$3,660 |
Distances are approximate road figures from the terminal. Sedans seat three passengers with two large bags and two carry-ons; the Luxury SUV seats six with five or six large bags; the Sprinter takes 12 to 14 passengers and 12 or more bags. Edmonton airport limo service: where we meet you at YEG
The airport publishes its ground transportation layout, and it is worth knowing because the options cluster around different doors on the arrivals level. Taxis and limousines load curbside outside Door 9. Rideshare drivers cannot be hailed in person or use the taxi stands; they meet passengers at Arrivals Paid, outside Door 10. Friends and family collecting by private car use short-term areas described on the airport's pick-up and drop-off page. Rental counters are on the parkade ground level outside Door 8, and the Ground Transportation Office is on the arrivals level near Door 7.
Your chauffeur has none of that to navigate and neither do you. Our process:
- We track your flight from the moment you book, so a delayed or early landing changes the pickup, not the reservation.
- Your confirmation names the door and meeting point on the arrivals level.
- With the optional $100–$150 meet-and-greet, your chauffeur waits inside the arrivals hall with a name board and takes you and the luggage to the vehicle.
- Domestic arrivals include 30 minutes of free wait after landing. International arrivals, including flights from the United States, include 60 minutes, which covers customs and a slow baggage belt.
YEG is one of the Canadian airports with US border preclearance, so travellers bound for the United States clear US customs here before departure. For arrivals from the US, you clear Canadian customs on arrival, which is why those flights get the international wait allowance. Child seats are free when requested at booking.

Edmonton airport limo to downtown, Rogers Place and the river valley
Downtown Edmonton is the main destination for business travellers, and the airport is roughly 30 km away by Highway 2 and about half an hour by car. Rogers Place and the Ice District sit in the downtown core, as do most of the major hotels, the convention centre and the government offices. A sedan transfer is $145–$175, an SUV $180–$220.
The airport's own published flat rates to downtown are $62 for a taxi and $71 for a limousine. These are the airport's figures for walk-up taxi and limo service from the curb. A pre-booked LimousineCanada.ca sedan costs more than the airport's flat taxi rate, and what you are buying is certainty: a confirmed vehicle, flight tracking, a known meeting point and a chauffeur who is already there. For a solo traveller on a flexible schedule, the flat-rate taxi is a reasonable choice and we will say so.
For an evening event at Rogers Place, arrange the return as well. Downtown event nights are slow to leave, and a pre-booked car with a known pickup street avoids the queue for ride-app drivers.
Is an Edmonton airport limo worth it, or is the bus or a taxi better?
It depends on who you are and how much luggage you carry. This comparison assumes a trip from YEG to downtown Edmonton.

| Option | Typical cost | Time | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| ETS Route 747 plus LRT | $6 flat fare per the City of Edmonton | Allow around an hour including the transfer at Century Park | Solo travellers, light bags, daytime, no tight schedule |
| Airport taxi (flat rate) | $62 per the airport | About 30–35 min | Walk-up convenience without booking |
| Airport limousine (flat rate) | $71 per the airport | About 30–35 min | Curbside limo with no advance booking |
| Ride app | Varies with demand | About 30–35 min plus wait | Light packers comfortable with variable pricing |
| Hotel shuttle | Courtesy for guests of Nisku and Leduc hotels | Depends on hotel | Guests staying near the airport |
| LimousineCanada.ca Executive Sedan | $145–$175 | About 30 min | Fixed fare, tracked flight, driver waiting, groups and luggage |
Being direct: if you are travelling alone with a single bag, the 747 bus and LRT is the cheapest way into the city and perfectly safe, and the flat-rate taxi is the next cheapest. A pre-booked car earns its price on late-night and early-morning arrivals, when bus frequency is thin; in minus-twenty weather when waiting at a bus stop is unpleasant; when you are two or three travelling together and the per-person cost narrows; and when you are heading somewhere the bus does not go, such as Sherwood Park, St. Albert, Red Deer or the mountains.
Route 747, hotel shuttles and the airport's other options
Route 747 is the City of Edmonton's airport bus. The City lists a flat $6 fare and a monthly airport fare cap, and the route runs from early morning to just after midnight at intervals of 30 to 60 minutes. It connects with Century Park LRT station, so reaching downtown involves a bus and a train. Check the City of Edmonton's Route 747 page for the current timetable, since schedules and fares change.

Hotel shuttles serve hotels in Nisku and Leduc, which you book directly with the hotel. On-Airport Transit, free and on demand, moves people within Airport City and is picked up outside Door 9.
Leduc Transit provides regular service from the City of Leduc. SunDog Tours runs a daily shuttle between Edmonton, Edson, Hinton and Jasper, with extra shuttles in peak season and advance booking recommended. If you are travelling alone to Jasper on a fixed schedule, a shared shuttle seat is cheaper than a private car. For groups, the private option compares more closely.
Edmonton airport limo to West Edmonton Mall, Sherwood Park and St. Albert
The airport is south of the city and these destinations are on the north, west and east sides, so the drive crosses the city. Expect a longer trip than the downtown run, and more variability at rush hour.

- West Edmonton Mall is about 38 km from YEG and takes 35 to 40 minutes: $180–$210 by sedan, $225–$270 by SUV. Hotels attached to or beside the mall mean many leisure travellers go straight there.
- Sherwood Park, east of the city in Strathcona County, is around 38 km by road and 35 to 40 minutes: $180–$210 by sedan.
- St. Albert, on the northwest side, is roughly 45 km and 40 to 50 minutes: $210–$250 by sedan, $265–$315 by SUV.
These distances are approximate. The booker prices your exact address, and the final figure may differ slightly. For workers arriving in a crew, a Sprinter at $315–$445 depending on the destination keeps the group together and removes the question of who drives.
Edmonton airport chauffeur service for business and project travel
Edmonton's business travel is varied: government and legislative visits, university and health-sector trips, and industrial and energy projects across the region. The airport's position near the Nisku industrial area also means many arrivals are bound for sites rather than hotels. A chauffeur service handles those patterns with a few practical advantages:
- Fixed, receipted fares that go straight into an expense report.
- Hourly bookings for a day of site visits or meetings: $135–$165 per hour in a sedan with a two-hour minimum, $175–$210 per hour in an SUV with a two-hour minimum.
- Group moves in a Sprinter, with a single driver and a single pickup for the whole crew.
- Late-flight resilience. If a connection through Calgary or Toronto runs late, the chauffeur is already adjusted to the real landing time. See our Calgary airport limo page if you are connecting through YYC.
Edmonton to Red Deer and the QEII corridor
Red Deer is about 120 km from the airport, a drive of roughly 80 minutes, and sits on the Highway 2 corridor between Edmonton and Calgary. A sedan is $555–$670, an SUV $705–$850 and a Sprinter $990–$1,185. The airport is already on Highway 2, so for some travellers YEG is a practical alternative to Calgary when the flight timetable suits.
A pre-booked car saves double handling here: no rental pick-up queue, no return-the-car stop, and the driver continues straight south. If you need the vehicle to wait in Red Deer for a half-day meeting and then return to YEG, the hourly rates apply and we can quote the whole itinerary in the booker.
Edmonton to Jasper by private car
Jasper is about 370 km from Edmonton International, with estimates ranging from roughly 360 to 390 km depending on the starting point and the destination in the park. Allow around four hours in good conditions. A sedan is $1,720–$2,055, an SUV $2,170–$2,610 and a Sprinter $3,055–$3,660. These are the longest transfers on this page and we suggest talking to the booker about timing: an early arrival at YEG can mean a mid-afternoon arrival in Jasper once you add bag collection and stops.

For a family or small group, the private option is a different experience from the shared shuttle: your own schedule, your own stops for photographs, door-to-door drop-off. For a solo traveller, the SunDog shuttle noted above is cheaper. Jasper National Park is managed by Parks Canada and uses the same national park pass system as Banff, so if you stop in the park you should expect to need a pass; confirm current rules and fees on the Parks Canada passes page. Wildlife near the highway is common at dusk and dawn.
Winter at YEG: what actually changes
Edmonton winters are cold, and the drive from the airport to the city is on a highway, so conditions matter. Practical points:
- Check the road before you fly. 511 Alberta shows road conditions, closures, cameras and snowplow locations, so you can see the highway before you leave your hotel or your office.
- Delays are normal. Fog, snow and de-icing can delay flights and extend drive times. Because we track the flight, your chauffeur adjusts.
- Cold-season mountain runs. For Jasper transfers between October and April, we assign vehicles on winter-rated tyres, and we will tell you plainly if conditions make the run unwise.
- Dress for the curb. The walk from the terminal door to the vehicle is short, but minus-thirty feels long. Keep a coat in your carry-on.
Weddings, events and group travel from YEG
Groups arriving at YEG are often travelling to the same venue: conference delegates, sports teams, wedding parties. A mini-coach at $300–$420 per hour (four-hour minimum) carries 20 to 30 passengers, and a stretch limousine at $225–$300 per hour (three-hour minimum) suits a smaller wedding party or an evening out. See the limo service page for event options, and the airports hub to link up arrivals at other Canadian airports, such as our Winnipeg airport limo service for prairie travel.
How booking and cancellation work
Choose YEG on the LimousineCanada.ca booker, enter your flight number and drop-off address, select the vehicle, and see the exact all-in fare before you confirm. Our cancellation policy is measured from the scheduled pickup time: more than 72 hours' notice has no charge; 72 hours or less is 10%; 48 hours or less is 50%; 24 hours or less, or a no-show, is 100%. A delayed flight does not need a cancellation because we track the landing.
