How much is a limo in Ottawa?
A sedan from Ottawa airport to Parliament Hill or the ByWard Market is $145 to $175 before tax, a Luxury SUV is $180 to $220 and an Executive Sprinter $295 to $355. The airport is about 10 km south of downtown, so the minimum transfer applies to nearly every central trip.
Ottawa is a compact capital. The airport sits about 10 km south of downtown according to the City of Ottawa and OC Transpo, and Ottawa Tourism describes the drive as roughly 20 minutes. A distance that short means the minimum transfer is the number that matters, and it applies to the downtown core, the Glebe, Rockcliffe and Gatineau alike. Longer runs, such as Kanata or Montréal, are priced per kilometre.

Limo Ottawa: vehicles for every kind of arrival
A government delegation, a wedding party and a solo investor each need something different. The Executive Sedan takes three passengers with two large bags and two carry-ons. The Luxury SUV takes six with five or six large bags, which suits a family or a small delegation with garment bags. The Executive Sprinter carries 12 to 14 passengers and 12 or more bags, and it is the vehicle for conference groups and wedding parties.

Hourly service is $135 to $165 per hour for a sedan on a two-hour minimum, $175 to $210 for an SUV on two hours, and $240 to $295 for a Sprinter on three. A stretch limousine for 8 to 10 guests is $225 to $300 per hour on a three-hour minimum, and a mini-coach or party bus for 20 to 30 is $300 to $420 per hour on a four-hour minimum. See the fleet page for the full detail.
Ottawa airport pickups: Level 1, pillars 12 and 13
The airport's ground transportation page puts licensed transportation on Level 1 (Arrivals) and says passenger loading is not permitted on Level 3 (Departures). It lists "pre-arranged service" such as luxury vehicles at Pillars 12 and 13 and rideshare at the same pillars on the curb furthest from the terminal. Taxis queue outside the centre door, and hotel shuttles use Pillars 13 to 15.
Your booking confirmation names the exact meeting point for your flight. We track the flight, so an early or late arrival moves your pickup with it. Free waiting covers 60 minutes after landing on an international flight and 30 minutes after a domestic one. A name-board meet-and-greet in the arrivals hall is $100 to $150 as an add-on. The Ottawa airport limo page has more, and private jet arrivals are covered under Ottawa YOW FBO.
Airport to downtown: the real options
With a 10 km run, public transit is a serious alternative. Here is how the choices compare.

| Option | Cost | Time | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| O-Train Line 4, then connections | A standard OC Transpo fare | Depends on transfers; check the live planner | Solo, light bags, transit-friendly |
| OC Transpo bus | A standard OC Transpo fare | Longer than a car | Budget, flexible schedule |
| Airport taxi | Metered | About 20 minutes | Short stays, no booking |
| Rideshare | Varies with demand | About 20 minutes | Two people, one bag |
| Pre-booked sedan | $145–$175 | About 20 minutes | Fixed price, tracked flight |
| Pre-booked SUV or Sprinter | $180–$220 / $295–$355 | About 20 minutes | Families, delegations |
O-Train Line 4 has connected the airport to South Keys station since January 2025, and the airport says the station is connected to the terminal on Level 3. Its announcement lists hours of 6:00 a.m. to roughly 12:35 a.m. and notes that you transfer at South Keys for the rest of the network. That makes transit a good choice for a solo traveller with one bag and time to spare. A chauffeured car is the better choice when you land after the train has stopped, arrive as a group, have a meeting within the hour or want a named driver at the curb. See limo vs rideshare for the wider comparison.
Parliament Hill, the ByWard Market and downtown hotels
Downtown Ottawa is small enough that the car is more about the door than the distance. Parliament Hill, the Rideau Canal, the ByWard Market and the Château Laurier are all within a few minutes of each other, and security closures or events can change access to the streets near the Hill at short notice. For a hotel arrival, Fairmont Château Laurier has its own page with the approach and the pull-in.
For a day of sightseeing, an hourly booking beats several one-way trips, because the car waits and you decide what comes next. Our Parliament Hill and ByWard Market guide covers tours and the changing of the guard, and the Ottawa weekend guide lays out museums and the canal.
Embassies, protocol and diplomatic travel
Ottawa hosts embassies and high commissions, and many bookings are protocol-driven: a fixed arrival time, a defined route, a named contact and strict punctuality. We handle these like any executive booking, with a confirmation that names the vehicle class, the pickup and the driver contact. If your delegation has security staff, tell us in advance; we coordinate a pickup point that works for the detail, and an Executive Sprinter or an SUV convoy can be arranged.

For official events on Parliament Hill, such as Remembrance Day and Canada Day, streets close and access points change, so we plan the final approach in advance. See our guides to Canada Day in Ottawa and Remembrance Day in Ottawa, and Winterlude and RBC Bluesfest for the festival calendar.
Trains: the VIA Rail station at Tremblay Road
VIA Rail's Ottawa station is at 200 Tremblay Road, about 4 km from downtown, off Vanier Parkway. VIA's station page lists a curbside drop-off zone directly in front of the main entrance, and notes that the platform opens five minutes before departure. Ottawa Tourism lists about 4.5 hours from Toronto and about 2 hours from Montréal by train, and VIA gives roughly 185 km and two hours between Montréal and Ottawa.
We meet trains at the station, track the arrival and wait from the actual arrival time. Our Ottawa train station page covers the details, and the Toronto to Ottawa and Ottawa to Montréal pages compare the train with a private car.
Gatineau, Gatineau Park and day trips
Gatineau is across the river, about 15 km from the airport, and its museums and Gatineau Park are popular with visitors. Gatineau Park's Champlain Lookout and fall colours are the draw; our Gatineau Park guide has the details. If you need a pickup in Gatineau, tell us at booking so we can confirm the arrangement for that side of the river.

To the southeast, the Thousand Islands and Gananoque make a good long day; see the Thousand Islands guide for border notes about the American side. Kanata, to the west, is about 32 km from the airport and home to a major arena and tech employers.
Where we pick up in Ottawa
The downtown core, the Glebe, Centretown, Sandy Hill, Rockcliffe Park, New Edinburgh, Westboro, Orléans, Barrhaven, Kanata and Stittsville are all regular pickup areas, and the airport sits close to the south end of the city, which keeps most of those runs quick. Rockcliffe Park and New Edinburgh are home to many residences and official addresses, and the streets are narrow, so we like a precise gate or door instruction from you.
Barrhaven and the south-end suburbs are among the closest to the airport, while Orléans in the east is a longer cross-town drive. If you are choosing a hotel and the car is a priority, the downtown core gives the quickest access to the Hill, the market and the canal, and the airport run from it is short enough that the timing rarely becomes a worry.
A day by the hour in the capital
Ottawa is a city where an hourly booking pays off. A typical day might begin with a hotel pickup, move to a ministry or embassy appointment, continue to a lunch in the market, include an afternoon at the National Gallery or the museums across the river in Gatineau, and end with dinner and a late return. The car waits at each stop and the chauffeur handles the street closures and one-ways, so you do not spend the day re-ordering transport.
The sedan is $135 to $165 per hour with a two-hour minimum, so a six-hour day is roughly $810 to $990 before tax, and an SUV is $175 to $210 per hour, or about $1,050 to $1,260 for the same six hours. Compare that with the cost of a series of one-way trips and the time lost to each, and the hourly option often comes out well ahead. Tell us the stops and the times, and we will suggest the right block of hours.
Weddings, proms and celebrations
Ottawa weddings often include a ceremony at a church or a heritage site, photos on the canal or at a lookout, and a reception at a hotel or a restored hall. We plan the day by the hour with a timeline you agree in advance. A stretch limousine seats 8 to 10, a Sprinter takes family, and a mini-coach covers guest shuttles. The service pages for wedding limousines, prom limousines and party bus rental go deeper.
Prom and graduation rides are booked by a parent or guardian, with a named adult contact and a plan for the evening. Winter weddings need a longer margin for photos in the cold.
Corporate travel, government and conferences
Ottawa's business travel mixes government visits, association conferences, technology meetings and legal work. We set up repeat accounts with itemised receipts and consistent vehicle classes, and we price roadshows hourly with a defined route. The corporate car service page covers invoicing and confidentiality, and hourly chauffeur covers day rates.
If you are travelling for a meeting with a hard start time, book the car to arrive early and tell us the building's visitor entrance. Government buildings often have a separate check-in point that differs from the street address.
How Ottawa regulates vehicles for hire
Ottawa licenses vehicles for hire through the City. Before you book any limousine, ask the operator which municipal licence applies to the driver and the vehicle, and confirm commercial passenger insurance. Operators that work between Ottawa and Gatineau should also be able to explain how they handle pickups on each side of the river, because Ontario and Québec rules differ. A clear answer is a good sign.
Winter in Ottawa
Ottawa winters mean snow, freezing rain and the occasional road closure. For a winter transfer, leave extra time and tell us if your flight is delayed; flight tracking adjusts the pickup. If you are heading to Montréal, Toronto or Kingston in poor weather, consider travelling earlier in the day.
Booking and cancellations
Booking direct gives you an exact fare for your addresses. Child seats are free when requested at booking. If plans change, there is no charge with more than 72 hours' notice, 10% at 72 hours or less, 50% at 48 hours or less, and 100% at 24 hours or less or for a no-show, measured from the scheduled pickup.
