A Calgary YYC FBO limo is a chauffeured car arranged around a private aircraft arriving at Calgary International Airport, met at the business-aviation terminal rather than the airline arrivals level. The general-aviation area sits on the airport's north-east side, a world away from the terminal doors, and the operators there have their own addresses on Aviation Park, Palmer Road and Aero Court. LimousineCanada.ca books the car for the operator you name, with your tail number and estimated arrival time, so the handover is settled before you land.
This guide covers the operators we verified from their own websites, fares from the north-east apron to downtown Calgary, Canmore and Banff, how customs works on a private international arrival, and how the Springbank airport fits in. All prices are Canadian-dollar ranges before tax, with kilometres and typical drive time next to each trip, and the online booker returns the exact all-in fare for your address.
Which Calgary FBO is handling your aircraft, and where does the car wait?
Calgary's verified business-aviation operators are Signature at 1441 Aviation Park NE, Skyservice at 575 Palmer Road NE and Sunwest Aviation at 217 Aero Court NE. The chauffeur waits at the door or gate your operator assigns. Give us the operator, tail number and ETA at booking and we confirm the handover procedure directly.
The north-east general-aviation area is a cluster of buildings, hangars and ramps, and a driver who has not been given the exact operator can lose ten minutes looking for the right gate. For that reason we ask the operator's name rather than just "the Calgary FBO". If you are not sure, your pilot or charter provider will know within seconds. Other operators and hangars are active on the field too, and if yours is not on our list, put its name and address in the booking notes and we will check the access procedure before the day.
Business-aviation operators at Calgary International
These are the operators whose own websites we checked. As with any FBO, confirm hours and services before you fly.
| Operator | Address | What the operator's site says |
|---|---|---|
| Signature Calgary | 1441 Aviation Park NE | Open 24 hours; Jet A line service, ground power, secure ramp access, long-term aircraft parking |
| Skyservice Calgary | 575 Palmer Road NE | Operates around the clock; client lounge, crew lounge and showers, pilot snooze rooms, CANPASS customs clearing, hangar and on-ramp parking |
| Sunwest Aviation (Shell AeroCentre) | 217 Aero Court NE | Shell-branded FBO offering flight handling, aircraft storage, maintenance and grooming |
Read the operators' own descriptions at Signature Calgary and Sunwest Aviation. Skyservice describes its Calgary base as about 15 minutes from downtown, a figure that holds on a quiet morning and grows with the traffic. We have not listed an operator we could not confirm from its own site, so ask us about any other name you are using.

From the FBO to downtown Calgary
Calgary International is 17 km from downtown by the airport's own measure, and the north-east FBOs add a little to that. We plan on about 18 km and 20 to 40 minutes, with the Deerfoot Trail and Barlow Trail corridors the usual pinch points in the morning and late-afternoon peaks. Hotels in the Beltline, along Stephen Avenue, in Eau Claire and near the Calgary Tower all fall within the same fare band.
The run is under the minimum transfer, so the sedan is $145-$175, the Luxury SUV is $180-$220 and the Executive Sprinter is $295-$355. For general city bookings, see our Calgary airport limo page, which covers the main terminal.
Sample fares from Calgary's FBOs
The figures below come from the published rate card, with the minimum transfer applied on shorter runs and figures rounded to the nearest $5.

| Destination | Distance and drive time | Sedan | SUV | Sprinter |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Downtown Calgary | About 18 km, 20-40 min | $145-$175 | $180-$220 | $295-$355 |
| Springbank Airport | About 40 km, 40-60 min | $190-$225 | $235-$285 | $330-$400 |
| Canmore | About 120 km, 1 hr 20 min-1 hr 50 min | $555-$670 | $705-$850 | $990-$1,185 |
| Banff | About 145 km, 1 hr 40 min-2 hr 15 min | $675-$805 | $850-$1,020 | $1,200-$1,435 |
Banff and Canmore: the Bow Valley by private car
The Bow Valley is the reason many private aircraft land in Calgary. Published figures put Banff between 133 and 145 km from the airport and around an hour and a half to two hours by road; Canmore is closer, at roughly 120 km and one hour twenty minutes. We plan on the longer end of those ranges because the FBOs are at the north-east of the airfield and the Trans-Canada Highway starts on the west side of the city.
The highway climbs through the foothills, past the Kananaskis exit and into Canmore before the final stretch to Banff. It is a good road, but it carries weekend traffic, summer visitors and winter storms. A snowy Friday afternoon can double the time for the last 30 km, and wildlife fencing and roadworks occasionally slow the route. If your aircraft lands after dark in winter, tell us; we may suggest a hotel in Calgary and a morning drive.
The Luxury SUV is the usual choice for a family or small business group heading to a lodge, with room for six passengers and five or six large bags. A group travelling with ski kit, golf bags or a full catering order should take the Sprinter.

Springbank Airport: Calgary's other business-aviation option
Springbank Airport lies west of the city, about 21 km west-north-west of downtown Calgary. For some passengers, particularly those heading directly to the mountains, it is a convenient alternative to Calgary International, and the CBSA's airport-of-entry list has included Springbank among CANPASS locations. Because customs arrangements and hours at smaller airports change, confirm the current arrangement with your flight department and the CBSA before you plan an international arrival there.
If you land at Calgary and continue to Springbank by a smaller aircraft, we use about 40 km and 40 to 60 minutes for the FBO-to-Springbank transfer. For flights from Springbank to Banff, tell us the operator at the Springbank end so we can confirm the pickup. The wider private aviation page lists the other airports we cover.
Customs and CANPASS at Calgary
If your aircraft is arriving from the United States or overseas, the border step comes first. The CBSA's general-aviation procedure requires the pilot to phone the Telephone Reporting Centre at least two hours, but no more than 48 hours, before entering Canada; the aircraft lands at an approved airport of entry during CBSA hours; the pilot calls again on landing; and nobody leaves the aircraft until authorized. Aircraft carrying more than 15 people must make advance arrangements with the local CBSA office. The complete steps are on the CBSA general-aviation page.

Skyservice's Calgary listing mentions CANPASS clearing, while Signature's page does not mention customs, so ask your flight department which arrangement applies to your aircraft. In all cases the chauffeur waits at the FBO until you are released, and our included waiting time counts from landing: 60 minutes on an international arrival, 30 on a domestic one. Your pilot files the border report; we do not.
Limo, taxi, airport sedan or bus: an honest comparison
Calgary International publishes its own taxi and airport-sedan information, which shows the options a commercial passenger has. Business-aviation passengers start in a different place, so the comparison needs adjusting.

| Option | Typical cost | Time to downtown | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chauffeured sedan from the FBO | $145-$175 | 20-40 min | Executives and families with luggage |
| Airport taxi | About $40-$45 on the meter, plus a $5.10 + GST pickup fee (YYC's published figure) | About 20-35 min from the terminal | One traveller with one bag |
| Airport sedan | Flat $68.75 to downtown, plus an $11 pickup fee (YYC's published figure) | About 20-35 min from the terminal | Short-notice premium transfer |
| Limited-stop bus (Route 300) | Low transit fare | Longer, with stops | Budget travellers |
| Hotel shuttle | Often free | Varies | Hotels near the airport |
The airport figures are the airport's own, shown on its taxis and sedans page, and they start at the terminal, not at the north-east FBOs. A solo traveller with one bag and a downtown hotel may find a taxi easier; a group, a client or a Bow Valley journey is where the chauffeured car earns its fare.
Picking a vehicle at Calgary
The Executive Sedan seats three with two large bags and two carry-ons. The Luxury SUV seats six with five or six large bags and is the usual choice for private-jet arrivals. The Executive Sprinter carries 12 to 14 people and a dozen or more bags. Request a child seat when you book and it is supplied at no charge. Read more on the fleet page, or compare hourly pricing on limo rates.

Hourly service for a Calgary day
If your plans include several stops, such as a morning meeting on 7th Avenue, a site visit north of the city and an evening dinner, an hourly booking beats separate transfers. Hourly rates start at $175-$210 for the Luxury SUV (two hours) and $240-$295 for the Sprinter (three hours). During Stampede in July, hotels and restaurants fill and traffic around the grounds slows, so reserve the vehicle early and allow extra time.
Winter flying into Calgary
Calgary's cold snaps and chinook swings shape the ground leg as much as the flight. Snow on the north-east ramp can delay the handover, and black ice on the highways west of the city is the main hazard on the way to the mountains. We build the booking around the operator's guidance on the day, and we will tell you plainly if a late-evening mountain run looks like a poor idea. For a dependable plan, book the Luxury SUV or the Sprinter for any winter Bow Valley transfer, give the chauffeur your landing window, and accept an overnight in Calgary if the forecast demands it. Our general limo service page describes the other occasions where a pre-booked car helps.
Beyond Calgary: Edmonton and the rest of Alberta
Some itineraries pair Calgary with Edmonton or a stop at another city. Our Edmonton airport limo page covers the capital's main terminal, and the airport limo overview links the other cities we serve. For a one-way run between Alberta's two large cities, ask for a quote in the booker; the distance is longer than our sample table and the per-kilometre rate card applies.
Departing from Calgary
For a departure, the chauffeur collects you at the hotel, allows for Deerfoot Trail traffic, and takes you to the operator on the north-east side. Tell us the FBO and your tail number so the chauffeur is on the access list. For early-morning departures in winter, de-icing queues can delay the aircraft even after you board; the lounge is a better place to wait than the apron.
Frequently asked questions
Which FBOs are at Calgary International Airport?
Operators we verified on their own websites are Signature at 1441 Aviation Park NE, Skyservice at 575 Palmer Road NE and Sunwest Aviation at 217 Aero Court NE. Name the one that is handling your aircraft in the booking notes.
How much is a limo from a Calgary FBO to downtown?
An Executive Sedan is $145-$175, a Luxury SUV is $180-$220 and an Executive Sprinter is $295-$355 for a run of about 18 km. Rates are before tax, tolls and gratuity, and the booker gives the exact all-in fare.
How far is Banff from the Calgary FBOs?
About 145 km, taking 1 hour 40 minutes to 2 hours 15 minutes depending on traffic and weather. A sedan is $675-$805, an SUV $850-$1,020 and a Sprinter $1,200-$1,435. Canmore is about 120 km, so a sedan is $555-$670.
Will the chauffeur be waiting at the aircraft in Calgary?
Ramp-side access is the operator's decision. At some Calgary FBOs a vetted car can meet the aircraft; at others the chauffeur waits at the gate or in the lounge. We check beforehand and pass the answer on to you.
Is customs finished before I meet the chauffeur?
On a flight from outside Canada, border formalities come first. Your pilot makes the CBSA report and passengers stay with the aircraft until released. The chauffeur holds at the FBO, with 60 minutes of free waiting from touchdown on international arrivals.
Can you pick me up at Springbank instead?
Yes. Springbank is about 21 km west-north-west of downtown Calgary. Tell us the operator and aircraft at the Springbank end, and confirm customs arrangements with your flight department, since coverage at smaller airports varies.
Is it cheaper to take an airport taxi?
Usually yes: the airport lists about $40-$45 on the meter to downtown plus a pickup fee. But the taxi starts at the terminal, not at the north-east FBOs, and it does not give you a private handover or luggage handling.
What if the weather closes the highway to Banff?
We monitor conditions, tell you if the trip looks unwise, and can reroute, delay or switch the plan to a Calgary hotel. Because mountain transfers are priced on distance, a delayed run does not increase the base fare.
What is the cancellation policy?
No charge applies when you cancel more than 72 hours before the scheduled pickup. After that the fee is 10% at 72 hours or less, 50% at 48 hours or less, and 100% at 24 hours or less or on a no-show.
