A Montréal to Mont-Tremblant shuttle by private car puts you in the pedestrian village about 90 minutes after you leave the island, without a coach schedule, a change of vehicle or a taxi queue at the far end. The drive north along Autoroute 15 and Route 117 is about 125 km from Montréal, according to the resort, and the Laurentian hills do most of the scenery.
This is a trip many travellers make once a year, in ski season or at the turn of the leaves, and the logistics deserve a short plan. This page sets out the options, the fares for each vehicle, the airport arrival, winter conditions and the honest case for the coach, so you can pick the right booking before you commit.
Montréal to Mont-Tremblant: the options compared
Private-car fares use our published rates over the distances shown. Coach and shuttle details come from the operators and tourism offices, and you should check their current schedules and prices.
| Way to go | Cost | Time | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Executive Sedan from downtown Montréal | $580 to $695 for the car | About 1 h 30 to 1 h 45 | 1 to 3 people |
| Executive Sedan from Trudeau airport | $650 to $775 for the car | About 1 h 45 to 2 h | 1 to 3 people, arriving by air |
| Luxury SUV from downtown | $730 to $880 for the car | About 1 h 30 to 1 h 45 | Families, 4 to 6, ski bags |
| Executive Sprinter from downtown | $1,030 to $1,240 for the van | About 1 h 30 to 1 h 45 | Groups of 8 to 14 |
| Intercity coach | Per-person fare from the operator | Longer, with a transfer in the village | Solo travellers with light bags |
| Seasonal resort shuttle from the airport | Per-person fare, set by the operator | Winter schedule only | Skiers arriving on the right day |
| Rental car | Day rate, fuel, winter tires, village parking | About 1 h 30 at the wheel | Confident drivers, several days |
The coach and the seasonal shuttle cost much less per person. A private car narrows the gap as the group grows, and it is the only choice that works for a late flight, a heavy bag or a family with small children.
How far is Mont-Tremblant from Montréal, and how long does it take?

Mont-Tremblant is about 125 km from Montréal, and the resort gives the drive as roughly 90 minutes. From Trudeau airport it is a little farther, about 140 km, and a typical drive is 1 hour 45 minutes. Winter snow and Friday departures from the city add time.
The 90-minute figure is for a clear run from the city. In practice, Friday afternoons in winter, the Sunday-evening return and any storm push the drive well beyond that. A chauffeur who knows the road will keep to the schedule where possible, but the rule for a flight home is to leave generous time.
The airport figure is approximate and depends on the route from the airport to Autoroute 15, which the booker calculates from your exact address.

We follow your flight in real time, and waiting is free for 60 minutes after an international landing and 30 minutes after a domestic one. An arrivals-hall name board is available for $100 to $150. For airport procedures, see the Montréal-Trudeau airport page, and for city transfers and events, the Montréal limo page.
The drive: Autoroute 15, the Laurentians and Route 117
From the island, the route heads north across the Rivière des Prairies and onto Autoroute 15, the highway that serves the Laurentians. Beyond the last stretch of motorway, Route 117 carries the traffic through Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts to Mont-Tremblant, passing a string of resort towns and lakes.

The road is busy at the start and end of every weekend and holiday. Ski traffic converges on Friday evening and returns on Sunday. If you can arrive on a weekday, the road is much calmer, and the village is also quieter.
You can add a stop on request. The Laurentian towns have cafés and bakeries, and a short break costs little. Longer stops are charged as waiting time at the hourly rate for the vehicle.
Winter driving to Mont-Tremblant
Snow comes early to the Laurentians and often stays until April. Québec law requires winter tires on passenger vehicles during the winter season, and a rental car should be equipped accordingly. A chauffeur drives the route in all conditions and adjusts the speed and the schedule to the roads.
On snowy days, allow at least an extra hour, and avoid tight connections. For a departure flight from Montréal, leave far more margin than the map suggests when a storm is forecast. We add a buffer to winter pickups and let you know if conditions change the plan.
If you need to cancel or change because a storm has closed the roads, tell us as soon as possible. Cancellation is based on the scheduled pickup time, and early notice is always the cheapest.
From Trudeau airport to the village
If you are flying into Montréal, the pickup is in the arrivals hall. Your chauffeur tracks the landing, and the confirmation gives meeting instructions for your terminal. For international arrivals, customs and baggage can take an hour, which is covered by the free waiting time.

A direct shuttle from Trudeau airport to the resort is described as seasonal, and a Laurentides tourism article says it runs on certain winter days only. If your flight lines up with those days, it is a low-cost option. If it does not, the private transfer saves you the downtown detour.
Business aviation passengers arriving at the private terminal should see the Montréal YUL FBO page. Train arrivals into the city centre are covered on the Gare Centrale guide.
The coach, the shuttle and when they are the better choice
Autobus Galland is a coach operator serving the Laurentians, and its website offers online tickets and a bus tracker. Travel guides describe the coach as leaving from downtown Montréal rather than the airport, so an air traveller needs a transfer to the station first. Check the current Mont-Tremblant timetable on the Galland site before you rely on it.
For a solo skier with one bag, a flexible schedule and a downtown hotel, the coach is a reasonable choice. The same is true if you are travelling in summer on a tight budget. The seasonal airport shuttle works for travellers who land on its days.
The private car is better for a family of four, for people with several bags, for a flight that lands late, or for anyone who wants to be at the lobby door rather than a coach stop. At $730 to $880 for a Luxury SUV with six people, the per-person cost is roughly $120 to $145.
Leaving Montréal: roadworks and timing
The first half hour of the trip is the part that varies most. Roadworks on the island and the approaches to the bridges change with the season, and Montréal's tourism office points travellers to Mobility Montréal for closures and construction updates, as it does in its guide to driving into the city. We follow the same sources, and the chauffeur adjusts the route if a ramp or a lane is shut.

Departing from the Plateau, Old Montréal or the downtown hotels is usually simplest in the mid-morning, after the commuter peak and before the Friday exodus. If your date is a Friday in ski season, leave before 2 p.m. or after 7 p.m. when you can. The booking notes are the place to say whether you prefer to beat the traffic or to travel at your own pace.
Reading the resort's own information
The resort publishes a getting-here page with its own figures for distance and drive time, and its Getting to Tremblant page is the best place to confirm shuttle dates, village access and parking policies before you travel. Resort rules change with the season, and a private chauffeur cannot override them.
We use the resort's published figure of about 125 km as the baseline for pricing from downtown Montréal. Where the road between your start and the village differs, such as from a hotel in Laval or from the airport, the booker recalculates the distance.
A fair comparison with a rental car
A rental car is sensible when you plan several days of independent movement around the Laurentians. It gives you freedom to visit lakes and villages, and parking at a village hotel may be included in your stay. The costs add up, though: a day rate, a winter-tire supplement in the season, fuel, insurance and village parking.
Where the car would sit unused for most of the stay, a chauffeured transfer each way can cost the same or less, and it spares you the winter drive after a long flight. If you plan to ski every day within the village, a rental is rarely needed. If you want to explore, book a day with an hourly chauffeur instead, and keep the rest of the stay car-free.
Arriving in the village
Mont-Tremblant's resort village is largely pedestrian, so cars do not go into its heart. Your chauffeur will take you to the nearest drop-off point or to the hotel entrance, depending on the property.
If you are staying in a chalet or condo outside the village, enter the address in the booker. For a ski-in, ski-out condo, tell the chauffeur the building name, because access can be on a different road from the village. Our Mont-Tremblant village guide describes the village and the seasons.
We are not affiliated with the resort. We offer the transfer.
Seasons: ski, summer and autumn colour
Winter is the main season, with skiing from late autumn into spring depending on snow. Summer brings hiking, lake activities and festivals, and autumn brings the colours of the Laurentian forests. Each season changes the traffic and the timing.
Colour season weekends and holiday weekends are the busiest outside winter. Book the transfer early for these dates, since popular departure times fill first. If you plan a longer stay, a return trip can be added to the same booking.
A Tremblant day trip from Montréal by the hour
If you are staying in the city, an hourly chauffeur can take you to Mont-Tremblant for the day. The drive is about 90 minutes each way, so a nine-hour day leaves about six hours in the village. Nine hours in a Luxury SUV is $1,575 to $1,890, or $1,215 to $1,485 in an Executive Sedan, before tax.
For a day of skiing, two one-way transfers are often cheaper, since the car does not need to wait. For a day that includes the village, lunch and a drive around the lakes, the hourly car works well. The hourly chauffeur page sets out the minimum blocks.
Groups and events
Mont-Tremblant hosts weddings, corporate gatherings and family reunions. A group of twelve can use one Sprinter at $1,030 to $1,240 from downtown Montréal, which is under $105 per person. The Sprinter van rental page describes the seating and bag space.
If you plan to pair a Mont-Tremblant stay with a city weekend, our Montréal weekend guide and the Canadian Grand Prix guide show how the city events affect road timing.
Booking your Montréal to Mont-Tremblant transfer
Enter your pickup address or flight number and the Tremblant address in the online booker. You will see a fare for every vehicle, and a return leg can be added. In the notes, mention ski bags, child seats and any stop you want.
The chauffeur's details reach you before pickup day. Child seats are free if you ask when booking, and we confirm the details again the day before.
Frequently asked questions
How much is a private car from Montréal to Mont-Tremblant?
An Executive Sedan is $580 to $695, a Luxury SUV is $730 to $880 and an Executive Sprinter is $1,030 to $1,240 for about 125 km from downtown Montréal, before tax. Pickups at Trudeau airport are somewhat longer and cost more.
How long does it take to drive from Montréal to Mont-Tremblant?
About 90 minutes in clear conditions, according to the resort. Winter, Friday departures and Sunday returns can add significant time.
Is there a shuttle from Montréal airport to Mont-Tremblant?
A seasonal direct shuttle is reported to run on certain winter days, so check the resort for current dates. A private transfer runs every day and picks you up at your landing time.
Can I take the bus from Montréal to Mont-Tremblant?
Intercity coaches serve the Laurentians, and Autobus Galland sells online tickets. Travel guides say the coach leaves from downtown Montréal rather than the airport, so check the schedule.
Do you drive in winter conditions?
Yes. We drive the route in snow, add buffer time to winter pickups and tell you if conditions change the plan.
Can I stop in Saint-Sauveur or Sainte-Agathe on the way?
Yes. Add the stop in the booking notes. A short stop costs little, and a longer one is charged as waiting time at the hourly rate for your vehicle.
Can you carry ski and snowboard bags?
Yes. An SUV or a Sprinter carries them; tell us how many ski bags and boot bags you have so we can confirm space.
What if my return flight is delayed or my ski day runs late?
Tell the chauffeur as soon as you know. For flights, we track the arrival; for a late ski day, an hourly booking is more flexible than a fixed transfer.
