How much does a limo cost in Calgary?

Within Calgary, a sedan transfer starts at the $145 to $175 minimum, a Luxury SUV at $180 to $220 and an Executive Sprinter at $295 to $355, before tax. The airport is 17 km from downtown, so most city trips sit at the minimum. Banff runs about $675 to $805 by sedan from YYC.

A limo Calgary booking is built on two numbers: a per-kilometre rate and a minimum transfer. Because YYC is 17 km from downtown by the airport authority's own figure, nearly every ride between the terminal and the city lands on the minimum. The prices below are ranges before tax, with gratuity at your discretion, and tolls extra where they apply.

Typical drive times are about 20 minutes from the airport to downtown outside rush hour, about 1 hour 30 minutes to Banff and about 2 hours 15 minutes to Lake Louise in dry conditions. Calgary limo service: what you can book

An Executive Sedan carries three passengers with two large bags and two carry-ons, so it suits a solo executive or a couple. The Luxury SUV seats six with five or six large bags, which is what a family arriving with ski gear needs. The Executive Sprinter handles 12 to 14 passengers and 12 or more bags, and it is the vehicle of choice for a team heading to a field site, a wedding party, or a group bound for the mountains.

By the hour, a sedan is $135 to $165 with a two-hour minimum, an SUV $175 to $210 with two hours, and a Sprinter $240 to $295 with three hours. A stretch limousine for 8 to 10 guests is $225 to $300 per hour on a three-hour minimum, and a mini-coach or party bus for 20 to 30 is $300 to $420 per hour on four hours. Seating and luggage detail is on the fleet page.

YYC airport pickups: doors, domestic and international

Calgary International has one terminal building, and domestic, transborder and international flights all arrive on the Arrivals level. The Calgary Airport Authority has moved sedan service to defined positions on that level, at Doors 2 and 13 and between Doors 15 and 16 in its last published notice, with general pickup zones between Doors 4 and 7 and between Doors 16 and 17. Positions can be changed by the authority, so your booking confirmation gives the exact spot for your flight rather than relying on an old door number.

The airport asks drivers to stay with their vehicles and to move on immediately after a pickup. That is why a pre-booked chauffeur is tracking your flight and arriving at the curb when you are ready, not circling. We include 60 minutes of free wait after landing on international arrivals and 30 minutes on domestic arrivals. A name-board meet-and-greet in the arrivals hall is an optional $100 to $150. Our Calgary airport limo page has the airport-specific detail.

Airport to downtown Calgary: transit, taxi or chauffeur?

For a straightforward downtown trip, you have more choices than you may think. Here is how they compare over the 17 km from YYC.

There is no LRT line to the airport at present, and the public service runs along Centre Street as a rapid bus. If you are alone with a carry-on and you land at midday, transit is the cheapest answer and a perfectly good one. A chauffeured car makes sense for an arrival after a long haul, a group of four or more, a child seat, a client you want to impress, or any time you need a fixed price and a named driver. Our limo vs rideshare guide goes through it.

Calgary Stampede: arriving, leaving and corporate hosting

The Stampede fills Stampede Park for ten days every July. The park sits southeast of downtown along Macleod Trail between 12 Avenue SE and 25 Avenue SE, and Stampede Park's own getting-there page lists Victoria Park/Stampede Station on the Red Line as the fastest transit route to the BMO Centre and the Saddledome, and Erlton Stampede Station for the stadium. It also names defined taxi and Uber zones at the north, south and west ends. The park says Stampede-time parking and transit details for next year are due in spring 2027.

The best use of a chauffeur during Stampede is for a defined itinerary: hotel to a client dinner, rodeo grandstand arrival, a ranch breakfast in the morning, and a late-night return that does not depend on a rideshare surge. Corporate hosts often book a Sprinter for a team and a sedan for the executive. Book early, because hotels and cars sell out. Our Calgary Stampede transportation guide has the timeline.

Saddledome, Scotia Place and arena nights

Calgary is between arenas. The Scotiabank Saddledome remains the home of the Flames while Scotia Place, the new event centre in the Culture + Entertainment District, is under construction. The City of Calgary's Scotia Place FAQ gives a target of keys handed over in fall 2027 and an opening for the 2027/28 NHL season, after which the Saddledome will be demolished.

An ice hockey game in an arena

For concerts and games, the principles are the same as in any arena district: stage the car off the main approach, agree a pickup spot in advance and book the return for a set time. The east side of downtown and the Victoria Park area fill early on game days. For a fixed schedule on those nights, use hourly chauffeur service rather than a one-way fare.

Banff, Canmore and Lake Louise by private car

Banff is 128 km west of Calgary on the Trans-Canada Highway, according to Parks Canada, and the drive is typically 1 hour 25 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes. The highway is maintained year-round. A national park pass is needed if you stop in the park or drive its scenic parkways; Parks Canada says a daily pass is valid until 4:00 p.m. the day after purchase, and you can buy one at park gates or online through Parks Canada's passes page.

We recommend a Luxury SUV for two to six guests and a Sprinter for groups. A day return can include Canmore, Banff town, Lake Louise and a Parks Canada stop, priced hourly. Our Calgary airport to Banff page compares options, Banff, Lake Louise and Moraine Lake covers the access rules, and Banff National Park is the planning guide. For stays at Fairmont Banff Springs or Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, the hotel pages list where cars stop.

Kananaskis, Drumheller and a weekend in the city

Not every Calgary trip points at Banff. Kananaskis Country is closer and quieter, with trails, golf and the Nordic spa, and it works well as a half-day with a mid-trip meal; our Kananaskis guide lists the access passes. Drumheller is about 140 km from the airport and pairs the Royal Tyrrell Museum with the Horseshoe Canyon and the hoodoos, which is a full day in an SUV or Sprinter; see the Drumheller guide for timing.

If you are staying in the city, the Calgary weekend guide covers downtown, Inglewood and a Rockies add-on. For a day that mixes a shop in Kensington, lunch in Inglewood and a late dinner downtown, an hourly booking is better value than three one-way fares, and the car waits where you tell it to.

Weddings, proms and celebrations

Calgary weddings often move between a downtown hotel such as Fairmont Palliser, a ceremony site in town or in the foothills, and a reception somewhere else. The timeline is the whole job. We plan it on hourly rates, with a stretch limousine for the wedding party, a Sprinter for family, and a mini-coach if you need a guest shuttle between venues.

Prom and graduation bookings are made by a parent or guardian with a named adult contact and a clear plan for the evening. See wedding limousines, prom limousines and party bus rental for the specifics. Bachelor and bachelorette nights, birthdays and concert groups are the typical party-bus bookings.

Corporate travel, energy-sector visits and private aviation

Calgary's business travel is heavy on airport arrivals, client lunches, head-office meetings and site visits that start early. We set up repeat accounts with consistent vehicle classes and itemised receipts, and for roadshows we price multi-stop days hourly. If your executive arrives by private aircraft, the car can meet the jet at the Calgary YYC FBO. The corporate car service page covers invoicing and confidentiality.

How Calgary licenses limousines

The City of Calgary regulates drivers through its Livery Transport Services. The City's licence application guidelines explain that since March 2021, a single taxi driver's licence allows you to drive both a taxi and a limousine, with an Alberta Class 1, 2 or 4 licence, a police information check with vulnerable sector check, and a training program pass of at least 80%. The page links to a list of licensed taxi and limousine companies, and to the Vehicle for Hire office, which is the place to verify a provider.

When you book any limousine in Calgary, ask which City licences the driver and the vehicle hold. It is a reasonable question, and the answer should come quickly.

Winter driving and Chinook swings

Calgary's winter is dry and cold, but the weather can change within hours. Snow on the Trans-Canada, a sudden thaw and a hard freeze the next night all happen. For a mountain trip in winter, give the journey more time, leave earlier than you think you need to, and book the vehicle for the hours on the road, not just the distance. Tell us your flight number and the destination hotel, and the booking will reflect the real arrival.

Where we pick up in Calgary

Downtown, Beltline, Kensington, Inglewood, Mission, Bridgeland, Marda Loop, the University District, Springbank and the northwest communities are all within the standard city fares from YYC, and the airport is the obvious starting point for most. If you are ordering a car from a hotel, an office tower or a private home, give us the unit or lobby so the driver is not circling a block. {cta:Get an instant fare|/book/}

Booking and changing a ride

Booking on LimousineCanada.ca gives you the exact fare for your addresses and a confirmation that names the vehicle class. Child seats are free if you ask when you book. If plans change: more than 72 hours' notice has no charge, 72 hours or less is 10%, 48 hours or less is 50%, and 24 hours or less or a no-show is 100%, measured from the scheduled pickup. See the limo rates page for every vehicle.
