Kelowna FBO car service for private jets, turboprops and charter flights

A Kelowna FBO car service is the quiet last step of a private arrival in the Okanagan. Your aircraft lands at Kelowna International Airport, you finish whatever formalities your operator has arranged, and a vehicle is already waiting for the drive to the lake, a winery, a wedding or the ski hill.

LimousineCanada.ca books these transfers online. You enter the aircraft registration or your operator's trip reference, the FBO you are using, the drop-off address and how many passengers and bags are coming. The booker returns an all-in fare in Canadian dollars, and a chauffeur is assigned to your arrival.

This page explains how we meet private aircraft, what the fares look like to the places Okanagan visitors go, and what to confirm with your operator before you land.

How does a Kelowna FBO car transfer work?

A private jet against the mountains

Tell us the aircraft registration, which FBO your operator uses and where you are going. The chauffeur follows the aircraft, liaises with the FBO and meets you at the point it designates. The fare you saw when you booked is the fare you pay.

A private arrival differs from a scheduled one because the operator controls the schedule. A trip can move earlier or later at short notice, so we follow the registration instead of a flight number and message you as the aircraft descends.

Where the chauffeur meets you is the FBO's decision. Some allow a vehicle close to the aircraft by arrangement, and others route passengers through the building to a curb. We ask the FBO in advance, tell you what to expect and confirm the wait window with you before you pay. A name-board greeter is an add-on at $100 to $150. Ask for a child seat in the booking and it is fitted free of charge.

Finding your FBO: what to confirm with your operator

We want to be direct about one limit of this page. When we researched Kelowna, the airport's own website refused automated access, and an operator website we found for a branded FBO had an expired security certificate. Because we only name FBO operators that we have verified on the airport's or the operator's own site, we are not naming any here.

That does not stop us doing the job. Your charter company or flight department always knows which FBO will handle the aircraft. Give us the operator's name when you book, and we contact the FBO for the meeting arrangements.

KF Aerospace lists its head office, flight operations and maintenance facility at 5655 Airport Way, Kelowna, which is a useful reminder that the airfield is a working aviation site. See the company's locations page. If you are not sure where your party should go, ask the operator for the FBO's street-side meeting point in writing.

Ramp-side, door-side or curb: how we meet private arrivals

The FBO controls access to its apron, so the meeting point is one of three, and it is settled before you land.

We cannot enter secure airside areas ourselves, so bags are carried by FBO staff or by your own party. Golf clubs, ski bags and camera cases are worth mentioning when you book, so the vehicle that arrives is big enough.

Kelowna FBO car service fares in Canadian dollars

All fares are before tax. Distances are road figures from the airport to the destination using consistent mapping sources, and the booker prices your exact address. Inside about 31 km a sedan stays at its minimum, so the shorter runs show the same range.

DestinationDistance and timeSedanLuxury SUVSprinter
Downtown Kelowna13.7 km / 14 min$145–$175$180–$220$295–$355

Oliver116 km / 1 hr 40 min$540–$645$680–$820$955–$1,150

Hourly bookings are often better for winery days and wedding schedules. A sedan is $135 to $165 per hour and a Luxury SUV is $175 to $210 per hour, each with a two-hour minimum. Gratuity is at your discretion. The full rate card, including stretch limousines, is on the limo rates page.

Downtown Kelowna, the waterfront and weddings

Downtown Kelowna is 13.7 km and about 14 minutes from the airport, so every in-town transfer is priced at the minimum. Tourism Kelowna highlights Waterfront Park and Stuart Park, where people skate in winter, along with the Okanagan Rail Trail and paddle boarding on Okanagan Lake. See its visitor site for seasonal planning.

Weddings are a natural use for a private-aircraft arrival. A Luxury SUV carries a party of six with luggage. For a larger group, an Executive Sprinter seats twelve to fourteen with twelve or more bags, from $295 to $355 minimum. A stretch limousine seats eight to ten at $225 to $300 per hour with a three-hour minimum, which is the usual pick for photographs.

Read our wedding limo guide for timelines. If the couple wants the vehicle positioned for photographs on arrival, tell us and we will pass the request to the FBO.

Wine country: Naramata, Penticton and Oliver

Tourism Kelowna promotes winery touring across the valley, and October brings fall colour and the wine grape harvest. The Naramata Bench is 54 km and about an hour and thirty-five minutes from the airport on the road map, with a sedan transfer at $250 to $300. Penticton is 77.9 km and about an hour and ten minutes. Oliver is 116 km and about an hour and forty minutes.

A tasting day is better by the hour than by the transfer, because the vehicle stays with you and the driver handles the schedule. Choose a Luxury SUV or a Sprinter if you are collecting cases of wine. Our guide to the Okanagan wine country tour walks through sub-regions and timing.

A word on safety: a chauffeur is the sensible way to taste. Everyone in the vehicle can enjoy the day, and the schedule is not limited by who is driving.

Big White by private car

Big White Ski Resort is 60.3 km and about 53 minutes from the airport, and a sedan transfer is $280 to $335. A Luxury SUV is $355 to $425 and a Sprinter is $495 to $595. The resort's address is 5315 Big White Road, and it publishes road conditions, parking and shuttle information on its site. Visit Big White before you plan the mountain leg.

Highway leading into the Rocky Mountains
Highway leading into the Rocky Mountains

The Government of British Columbia says drivers must obey winter tire and chain signs from October 1 to April 30, with some highways ending March 31. Covered sections are marked with roadside signs, and driving past them without the right equipment can lead to being turned around or a fine. Check the province's winter driving page.

If you are carrying skis, say so at booking so we can choose a vehicle with room.

Vernon and the North Okanagan

Vernon is 40 km and about 32 minutes from the airport. A sedan is $185 to $220 and a Luxury SUV is $235 to $280. It suits golf trips, lake stays and corporate retreats.

For a group, a Sprinter is the practical option. The booking can include a stop on the way to pick up supplies or a late arrival. If your trip continues past Vernon, ask for a quote, because the booker prices every address.

Corporate groups can also use an account arrangement for invoicing; see corporate car service.

Seasons in the Okanagan

Tourism Kelowna organizes the year around four seasons. Summer is lake activity and warm sunshine. Fall brings colour and harvest. Winter is snow on the mountains and vineyards, with skating at Stuart Park. Spring is blossoming orchards and a transition from winter.

Each season changes the transfer. In summer, allow extra time on busy weekends. In harvest, allow time at wineries. In winter, allow time for the roads and keep the cabin comfortable for guests who are not used to the cold.

Book early for long weekends and for events listed in the events guide. For a city itinerary, see the Kelowna weekend guide.

Honest alternatives to a chauffeur in the Okanagan

A private car is not the only way to leave the airfield, and it is not always the cheapest. Transit listings describe BC Transit and intercity bus services that board at the east gate of the airport's short-term parking lot, with connections through Queensway Exchange towards Penticton and the South Okanagan. They cost a few dollars a ride and take much longer, with limited frequency on the longer routes.

A rental car suits a party that wants to explore at its own pace and is comfortable with mountain roads in winter. A taxi works for a short hop into town. A hotel or resort that provides its own shuttle may be enough for a single guest with a light bag.

Where a chauffeur wins is on fixed timing, luggage, groups, wine days where nobody wants to drive, and arrivals at awkward hours. It also removes the need to hold a rental contract for a short stay. If the choice is close, compare the all-in fare in the booker against the rental cost plus fuel, parking and the value of your time.

Customs and international arrivals

Flights arriving from outside Canada are cleared by your operator and the FBO working with the Canada Border Services Agency. The car service has no role in that process and cannot give customs advice or accompany anyone through it.

Each passenger should carry the documents required to enter Canada. If you know roughly when clearance will finish, tell us, because we would rather hold the vehicle for an extra half-hour than leave guests waiting. For drives back across the border, see our cross-border limo page.

Commercial arrivals at Kelowna

Not everyone arrives on a private aircraft. Staff, guests or family may land on scheduled flights at the main terminal and need a transfer at the same time. For those arrivals, the Kelowna airport limo page explains curbside pickup, flight tracking and the free wait.

You can combine both in a single group booking. For example, the principal arrives at the FBO and the assistants arrive in the terminal, and we send two vehicles with the same destination. The private aviation overview links the other FBO pages on the site.

Vehicles, luggage and tracking

Our Executive Sedan fits three passengers with two large cases and two carry-ons. The Luxury SUV is built for six passengers and five or six large cases. For twelve to fourteen people with more than twelve bags, the Executive Sprinter is the right size.

Private-aircraft baggage is varied, from soft duffels to golf bags and ski cases. When the load is borderline, take the bigger vehicle. The fleet page lists every class.

We follow the registration or the operator's reference. If the aircraft changes, tell us at once so we can follow the new one.

Booking in advance and cancelling

Book as soon as the itinerary is set, and tell us if the operator moves the departure, so we can move the pickup. Charges for cancelling are counted back from the scheduled pickup time. With more than 72 hours' notice nothing is charged. Inside 72 hours the charge is 10%, inside 48 hours it is 50%, and inside 24 hours, or if nobody appears, it is the full 100%.

Will the chauffeur be waiting beside the aircraft?

That is the FBO's call, and it follows the FBO's security rules. We ask ahead and tell you whether the car can wait near the aircraft, at the building door or at the curb.

How far is Big White from the airport?

Big White is 60.3 km and about 53 minutes by road. A sedan transfer is $280 to $335 and a Luxury SUV is $355 to $425. Winter tire and chain rules apply from October 1 to April 30 on signed highways.

Yes. A winery day is best booked by the hour. By the hour an SUV is $175 to $210 on a two-hour minimum. Naramata is about 54 km from the airport.

Is a child seat available for the drive from the FBO?

Yes, free of charge. Add the age and weight of each child to your booking.

Are taxes and tips included in the price?

Taxes are added to the fare, and tipping is left to you. Neither is part of the quoted range.
