Halifax FBO car service for private jets, turboprops and charter passengers
A Halifax FBO car service closes the last gap in a private flight. Your aircraft lands at Halifax Stanfield International, you step off close to the FBO building, and instead of arranging a taxi or a rental you walk to a vehicle that has already been told your tail number, your passenger count and your destination.
LimousineCanada.ca books these transfers online. You enter the aircraft registration or the operator's flight reference, the FBO you are using, the drop-off address and the number of passengers and bags. The booker returns an all-in fare in Canadian dollars, and a chauffeur is assigned to the arrival.
This page explains the FBOs the airport lists, how we coordinate with them, what the fares to Halifax and the South Shore look like, and what to arrange yourself with your operator, such as customs.
How does a Halifax FBO car transfer work?

You book online with the aircraft registration, the FBO name and your destination. The chauffeur tracks the aircraft, coordinates with the FBO on arrival and meets your party at the agreed point. You are driven to your address at the fare quoted when you booked, with no surprises on the day.
A private arrival differs from a scheduled flight in one important way: the aircraft's schedule is set by the operator and can change quickly. We follow the registration rather than a flight number and message you as the aircraft descends.
Where you are met is decided by the FBO and its security rules. Some FBOs permit vehicles close to the aircraft by arrangement, and others have passengers walk through the building to a curb or parking area. We ask the FBO in advance and tell you what to expect. The booker shows the included wait before you confirm, and you can add a name-board greeter at $100 to $150. Child seats are free if requested at booking.
The three FBOs Halifax Stanfield lists
Halifax International Airport Authority publishes a business directory of fixed base operators. The category description says these on-site facilities offer private aviation services for luxury and business aviation. At the time of writing, three businesses are listed.
| FBO | Address listed by the airport | Own website |
|---|---|---|
| Gateway Facilities ULC | 645 Pratt & Whitney Dr., Unit D, Goffs, NS | yhzgateway.com |
| PAL Aviation Services | 647 Barnes Dr., Goffs, NS | palaviationservices.com |
| Execaire Aviation – Shell Aerocentre | 549 Barnes Dr., Goffs, NS | execaireaviation.com |
We do not rank these operators, and we serve passengers arriving at any of them. Ask your charter company or flight department which one you are using. The airport's own list is on its FBO directory page.
What each FBO says about its Halifax service
We have summarised the operators' own websites rather than reputation or hearsay. Services change, so confirm anything critical with the FBO.

Gateway. Its Halifax page describes a fixed base operator at Halifax Stanfield offering Jet A and 100LL fuel around the clock, a local shuttle, car rental booking with the vehicle staged at the aircraft, hotel booking, catering, a flight planning room, a crew lounge and snooze rooms, and a 13,000 sq ft heated hangar. Its office is listed as open 24/7. Visit Gateway's Halifax page.
PAL Aviation Services. PAL describes itself as an FBO with locations in St. John's and Halifax. Its Halifax page lists in-house Jet A-1 fuelling with staff available 24/7/365, above- and below-wing handling including on-site customs clearance, and more than 15,000 sq ft of hangar space. See PAL's Halifax page.
Execaire Aviation – Shell Aerocentre. Execaire lists a full-service FBO at 549 Barnes Drive and shows Halifax as one of eight locations in its network. See Execaire's site.
None of these pages lists a street-door arrangement for guests' cars, so tell your FBO that a chauffeur is coming and give them the vehicle details we send you.
Ramp-side or door-side: how we meet private arrivals
There are three common meeting styles, and your FBO decides which are available on a given day.
- Ramp-side: the vehicle waits close to the aircraft by prior arrangement, subject to airside rules. Gateway's own page, for example, describes rental vehicles staged at the aircraft.
- Door-side: passengers walk into the FBO lounge, clear any formalities and meet the chauffeur at the building's door.
- Curb or parking meet: the chauffeur waits outside, and the FBO escorts passengers if required.
Give the FBO the chauffeur's name and vehicle once we send it. Airside access normally requires approvals that only the FBO or the airport authority can grant, which is why we ask early and confirm with you before departure.
Because we cannot enter secure areas, your party's bags are brought to the vehicle by FBO staff or by you, depending on the setup. Tell us if you have particularly heavy cases so we can send the right vehicle.
Halifax FBO car service fares in Canadian dollars
Fares are in CAD before tax. Distances are road figures from the FBO area at the airport to the destination, using consistent mapping sources, and the booker prices your exact address. Below roughly 31 km a sedan is held at its $145 minimum, which is why the shorter runs show the same range.

| Destination | Distance and time | Sedan | Luxury SUV | Sprinter |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dartmouth | 30.5 km / 23 min | $145–$175 | $180–$220 | $295–$355 |
| Downtown Halifax | 34.4 km / 28 min | $160–$190 | $200–$245 | $295–$355 |
| Peggys Cove | 69 km / 59 min | $320–$385 | $405–$485 | $570–$685 |
| Wolfville | 96 km / 1 hr 5 min | $445–$535 | $560–$675 | $790–$950 |
| Lunenburg | 111.3 km / 1 hr 25 min | $520–$620 | $650–$785 | $920–$1,100 |
Gratuity is at your discretion and is not included. For hourly use, the Executive Sedan is $135 to $165 per hour and the Luxury SUV is $175 to $210 per hour, each with a two-hour minimum. See the limo rates page for the whole rate card.
From the FBO to downtown Halifax and the waterfront
Downtown Halifax is 34.4 km and about 28 minutes from the airport, and a sedan transfer is $160 to $190. Dartmouth, across the harbour, is 30.5 km and about 23 minutes. Both are in the same price band, so choose the vehicle based on your party.
If you are joining a ship, the Halifax cruise terminal at Pier 21 is a natural next stop. Our Halifax Pier 21 cruise page explains embarkation timing and the berth locations. For a weekend itinerary on foot, read the Halifax weekend guide.
Passengers who also need a scheduled-flight pickup, such as staff on a commercial arrival, can use our Halifax airport limo page, which covers the main terminal.
The South Shore: Peggys Cove and Lunenburg
Peggys Cove is about 69 km and 59 minutes from the airport, and a sedan transfer is $320 to $385. Lunenburg is 111.3 km and about an hour and twenty-five minutes, at $520 to $620 for a sedan.

For a half-day trip by private aircraft guests, an hourly booking often reads better than a one-way fare plus a return, because the chauffeur waits at the lighthouse or the waterfront. Our guide to Peggys Cove covers the rocks, safety and the best hours for a visit.
Combine the coast with a long lunch in Lunenburg, and the chauffeur can have the vehicle at the door when you finish. If you are planning a longer tour, see the Cabot Trail guide.
The Annapolis Valley and Wolfville
Wolfville is 96 km and about an hour and five minutes from the airport, with a sedan transfer at $445 to $535. It is a natural destination for wine and university visits.
Private-aircraft guests often combine the Valley with Halifax in one trip, using one vehicle for the whole group. An Executive Sprinter seats twelve to fourteen passengers, which is useful for a corporate retreat or a wedding party that has arrived on the same aircraft.
Customs and international arrivals: what to arrange with your FBO
Customs for private aircraft is arranged by the operator and the FBO with the border authorities, not by the car service. PAL's Halifax page lists on-site customs clearance among its handling services. Gateway's page does not describe customs procedures, and Execaire's Halifax page does not either, so ask your operator how clearance will work.
Please make sure every passenger has the documents required by the Canada Border Services Agency and the airline or operator. If your aircraft has to clear customs first, tell us the expected clearance window. We would rather hold a vehicle for an extra half-hour than leave guests waiting at the curb.
For a cross-border departure, such as a drive to the United States border after landing, see our cross-border limo page.
Crew cars, positioning flights and ground handling
Crews often need a car of their own, either to reach a hotel while the aircraft remains on the ramp or to run errands. A sedan can be booked for the crew with the same tail-number tracking.
If you are repositioning to another airport, tell us the next leg so we can plan the departure time. Gateway describes itself as a stop for transatlantic tech stops, and fuel timing can govern when your crew leaves for the hotel.
For handling, the airport's ground handler list includes several firms, including operators that overlap with the FBOs, so ask your operator who is handling the aircraft before you finalise car timings.
Private arrivals versus the main terminal
Not every private-aviation passenger arrives at an FBO. Some fly commercial and connect to a charter, and some staff meet the aircraft but travel separately. The main terminal at Stanfield has curbside taxis, airport car services and limousines outside arrivals. The airport says pre-arranged taxis and limousines must be booked in advance.
For those arrivals, our Halifax airport page applies. For other regions, the private aviation overview lists the FBO pages we publish. You can also read about other east-coast stops through the airports index.
Winter operations and weather at Stanfield
Halifax winters bring snow, freezing rain and fog, and private aircraft may be delayed or diverted. De-icing is arranged through the airport's central facility, according to the FBO pages, and it can add time before departure.
Because we follow the tail number, a delay does not break the booking. For departures, ask your operator to message us when the aircraft is ready, and we will have the vehicle at the FBO. Heavy snow can slow the highway to Halifax, so we recommend adding buffer to the pickup time on the way out.
Vehicles, bags and tail-number tracking
Choose the vehicle by passengers and bags. The Executive Sedan seats three, with two large bags and two carry-ons. The Luxury SUV seats six with five or six large bags, and the Executive Sprinter seats twelve to fourteen with twelve or more bags.
Private-aircraft baggage tends to be soft-sided and varied, but golf bags, ski bags and photography cases still need room. The fleet page shows all classes.
We track the registration through the booking. If the operator changes the tail number, tell us at once. For larger corporate movements, the corporate car service page explains account bookings.
Booking in advance and cancelling
Book as soon as the itinerary is set, and update us when the operator changes departure times. Cancellations are measured from the scheduled pickup time: more than 72 hours' notice carries no charge, 72 hours or less is 10%, 48 hours or less is 50%, and 24 hours or less or a no-show is 100%.
Frequently asked questions
How much is a car from the Halifax FBO to downtown?
A sedan is $160 to $190 before tax for the 34.4 km, 28-minute run to downtown. A Luxury SUV is $200 to $245 and a Sprinter is $295 to $355. The booker gives the exact figure for your address.
Which FBOs operate at Halifax Stanfield?
The airport authority's directory lists three: Gateway Facilities ULC, PAL Aviation Services and Execaire Aviation – Shell Aerocentre. Ask your charter company which one it uses. We transport passengers from all of them.
Can the car meet me at the aircraft?
It depends on the FBO and its security rules. Gateway's own page describes rental vehicles staged at the aircraft, but each FBO decides on the day. We ask in advance and tell you what to expect.
How do you track a private flight?
We follow the aircraft registration or the operator's reference and message you as it descends. If the operator changes the aircraft, tell us so we can follow the new one.
Do you handle customs?
No. Customs for private aircraft is arranged by your operator and the FBO with the border authorities. PAL's Halifax page lists on-site customs clearance. Make sure all passengers hold the required documents.
Is a private car better than a rental for a crew?
For short stops with a hotel and dinner, a chauffeured sedan removes the paperwork and the parking. For several days of independent movement, a rental may cost less. We can arrange either a transfer or an hourly car.
Can you take us to Peggys Cove and back?
Yes. Peggys Cove is about 69 km and 59 minutes from the airport. An hourly booking lets the chauffeur wait, and a sedan transfer one way is $320 to $385.
Can you arrange a child seat for a private arrival?
Yes. Seats are supplied free of charge. Give us each child's age and weight when you book so the seat is fitted before the aircraft lands.
Is the tip included in the fare?
No. The fare excludes gratuity, which is entirely at your discretion, and tax is added on top.
