Pacific Central Station limo service in Vancouver
A Pacific Central Station limo from LimousineCanada.ca is a pre-booked chauffeur pickup at Vancouver's one building for intercity rail and buses. Pacific Central is where VIA Rail's The Canadian ends its journey from Toronto, where Amtrak Cascades trains arrive from Seattle, and where long-distance coaches from the Interior and Alberta pull in. Passengers step off after hours or days of travel and want a calm, simple next step.
That is what a Vancouver train station car service provides. You book on our own booker with your train or bus details. Your driver follows the arrival, meets you at the agreed point and takes you to a hotel, to the airport, to a cruise ship or up the highway to the mountains. The fare is quoted before you pay and is the fare you pay.
This page covers where the station is, how pickups work there, what the common trips cost, and the cheaper alternatives, including the SkyTrain that stops next door. Where transit is the better choice, we say so.
Where is Pacific Central Station?
Pacific Central Station is at 1150 Station Street, Vancouver, near Main Street and Terminal Avenue on the east side of downtown, beside Chinatown and Olympic Village. It is next to the SkyTrain's Main Street-Science World station and houses VIA Rail, Amtrak and the intercity bus terminal.
VIA Rail's own station page gives the address as 1150 Station St., Vancouver, BC V6A 4C7, at the east end of False Creek. The station is a heritage building that VIA has recently invested in, and it remains a working terminal in the full sense: a staffed ticket counter, a waiting room, baggage services and a row of bus bays along the side.
The location matters for pricing and timing. Pacific Central is not in the downtown core, but it is close. Most downtown hotels are a short drive away, which is why many fares from here sit at the minimum transfer. It is also well connected to the highways for the airport, the ferries and the North Shore.

Pacific Central Station car service fares
Fares come from our standard rate card: distance multiplied by the per-kilometre rate, never below the vehicle's minimum. Amounts are in CAD before tax, and gratuity is at your discretion. Distances are approximate road distances, and the booker returns the exact fare for the address you enter.
| Destination from Pacific Central | Approx. distance and time | Executive Sedan (3 pax) | Luxury SUV (6 pax) | Executive Sprinter (12-14 pax) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gastown and Waterfront | 3 km, 10 min | $145-$175 | $180-$220 | $295-$355 |
| Canada Place cruise terminal | 4 km, 10-15 min | $145-$175 | $180-$220 | $295-$355 |
| Downtown hotels, West Georgia and Coal Harbour | 5 km, 10-20 min | $145-$175 | $180-$220 | $295-$355 |
| Vancouver International Airport (YVR) | 15 km, 20-30 min | $145-$175 | $180-$220 | $295-$355 |
| Whistler Village | 130 km, about 2 hr | $610-$720 | $760-$915 | $1,075-$1,290 |
Almost every city fare lands on the minimum. For rates beyond the table, including hourly bookings for city tours or multiple stops, see the limo rates page, and for seating and luggage by vehicle our fleet page. Tolls and gratuity are extra, and the online booker gives the all-in figure for your exact address.
Where your chauffeur meets you at Pacific Central
The station has a single main entrance on Station Street. VIA's page for the station places the curbside loading zone on the left side of the main entrance as you arrive from the street. Short-term parking meters are run by Indigo Park Canada, and the station offers taxis, car rental and a waiting room inside.

Your booking confirmation states the exact meeting point for your train or bus. Two styles of pickup are available:
- Kerbside. Your driver waits at the agreed zone and messages you when you leave the platform. No extra charge.
- Name-board meet and greet. Your driver waits inside the station with a name board, helps with bags and walks you out. This is an add-on at $100 to $150, and it is useful in a building that handles trains and coaches at the same time.
For Amtrak and The Canadian, tell us the train number. For buses, tell us the operator and the bay if you know it. FlixBus uses Bus Bay 3, Greyhound Bay 4 and Wilson's Transportation Bay 7 according to published station guides, but bay numbers can change.
The Canadian: arriving and departing at Vancouver
The Canadian is VIA Rail's cross-country train and Pacific Central is its western terminus. Passengers who leave Vancouver board at 15:00 Pacific time and reach Toronto at 14:29 Eastern time on the fifth day, four nights later. VIA's timetable lists two departures a week, in seasonal blocks until October 30, 2026 and from November 2, 2026 to March 12, 2027.

For departing passengers, a morning or early-afternoon chauffeur from a downtown hotel is calm and unhurried. Station hours are 4:30 to midnight daily, and the ticket counter is open from 6:00 to 17:00. Allow time to check in and sort baggage with VIA before the 15:00 departure.
For arriving passengers, a long journey makes a driver particularly welcome. Long-distance trains can run late, so we follow the train rather than the clock. Our driver adjusts the pickup and does not charge for the delay. Included waiting time starts at arrival: 30 minutes for domestic arrivals.
Amtrak Cascades and the Seattle connection
Amtrak Cascades connects Vancouver, BC with Seattle, Portland and Eugene, with Pacific Central as the northern terminus. Amtrak says a new federal preclearance agreement means trains no longer stop at the border, saving about ten minutes, and that new trainsets are due on selected services from September 30, 2026.
Cascades passengers arriving from Seattle are crossing an international border, so we include the longer free wait: 60 minutes from arrival for international passengers. Check Amtrak's own information at amtrakcascades.com for the day's departures, and give us the train number so the driver can follow it.
Intercity buses at Pacific Central
The station is also Vancouver's main intercity bus terminal. Published station information lists services including Amtrak Thruway, Greyhound, FlixBus, Rider Express and Ebus, with coaches to the Interior, the Rockies and Alberta, plus BC Ferries Connector buses to Victoria via the Tsawwassen ferry terminal. VIA's station page also lists connectors to Whistler and to Tofino via Horseshoe Bay.

Bus arrivals follow their own timetables, and delays on mountain highways are common in winter. Tell us the operator, route and scheduled arrival when you book. The driver tracks the coach's progress where possible, and you can message the driver on arrival.
Pacific Central to YVR: the airport run
YVR is on Sea Island in Richmond, about 12 km from downtown Vancouver, and from Pacific Central the drive is about 15 km and 20 to 30 minutes depending on traffic. A sedan is $145 to $175, a Luxury SUV $180 to $220 and a Sprinter $295 to $355.

Transit is a serious alternative here. Main Street-Science World is on the Expo Line, which runs to Waterfront Station, and the Canada Line runs from Waterfront to YVR-Airport, the only station at the airport. That means two trains and a transfer, which is the best choice for a light-packing solo traveller. A car is better for groups, early flights, heavy luggage and anyone who would rather skip the changeover. For airport-side details, see our Vancouver airport limo service.
Pacific Central to Whistler
Whistler is about 125 km north of Vancouver on Highway 99, the Sea-to-Sky Highway. From Pacific Central it is around 130 km and about two hours in normal conditions, longer in snow or on holiday weekends. A sedan is $610 to $720, a Luxury SUV $760 to $915 and an Executive Sprinter $1,075 to $1,290, with tolls and gratuity extra.
A private transfer is worth considering for groups with ski or snowboard gear, and for those who do not want to sit through coach connections. There are shuttle buses and a connector service to Whistler for solo travellers, and they are cheaper. If you are splitting a Sprinter across ten or twelve people, however, the per-person cost is competitive and the luggage stays with you.
Winter driving conditions on the Sea-to-Sky can slow the journey, so the booker may suggest a larger buffer for early flights or check-ins. Our Vancouver limo service page covers other trips in the region.
Pacific Central to Canada Place and cruise ships
Canada Place, the downtown cruise terminal, is about 4 km from Pacific Central, so rail passengers connecting to a ship often take this short ride. For those arriving on The Canadian shortly before a sailing, a pre-booked car removes the risk of a missed connection between a late train and the embarkation window. See our Canada Place cruise car service page for terminal details.
What is the cheapest way from Pacific Central to downtown?
The cheapest way from Pacific Central Station to downtown Vancouver is the SkyTrain from Main Street-Science World, which is next to the station and runs on the Expo Line to Waterfront Station. Taxis are quicker door to door. A pre-booked sedan is $145 to $175 and brings a fixed price plus luggage help.
| Mode | Typical cost (CAD) | Time to downtown | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| SkyTrain, Expo Line | transit fare, see translink.ca | short ride to Waterfront Station | Solo travellers with light bags |
| TransLink bus | transit fare | varies by route | Local trips, routes 3, 8, 19, 22 and 23 serve the station |
| Taxi | metered | 10-20 min | Short trips with no booking |
| Hotel shuttle | varies by hotel | varies | Hotels that offer pickups |
| Executive Sedan, pre-booked | $145-$175 | 10-20 min | Fixed price and tracked arrival, up to 3 |
| Luxury SUV, pre-booked | $180-$220 | 10-20 min | Up to 6 with large bags |
The SkyTrain is the answer if you have one bag and an easy walk at the other end. A pre-booked car makes sense for families, groups, late-night arrivals and travellers with heavy luggage. We would not suggest it for a person with a backpack and an afternoon free.
Is a limo worth it from Pacific Central Station?
Think about who is stepping off the train. Someone who has spent four nights on The Canadian will have cases, souvenirs and perhaps a long list of things to do. A pre-booked car turns the end of that journey into a simple handover: a named driver, a price agreed in advance, and a hotel or ship at the end. For a family or a group of four to six, the Luxury SUV spreads the cost sensibly, and for cruise passengers it is a safe connection.
The case is weaker for short-hop commuters and solo backpackers. Use the SkyTrain or a taxi. When the station is crowded after a coach arrival, though, a driver waiting inside can save a long taxi queue.

Luggage, storage and station hours
VIA's station page lists these facilities. The station is open daily from 4:30 to midnight, and the ticket counter from 6:00 to 17:00. Baggage carts are available daily from 6:00 to 17:30. Left-baggage storage is for VIA Rail and Amtrak passengers on their day of travel only, at $6 per bag, with last pickup at 16:00 and no overnight storage.
Those limits matter if you are connecting between a late-arriving train and an evening ship or flight. A chauffeur with your bags in the car can wait with the luggage while you finish errands. Our Executive Sedan takes two large bags and two carry-ons, the Luxury SUV carries five or six large bags, and the Executive Sprinter carries twelve or more.
Accessibility and special assistance
VIA states that the station entrance, platforms and washrooms are wheelchair accessible, with a lift and a courtesy wheelchair available for boarding. Curbside assistance from VIA must be requested at least 48 hours in advance. If you require assistance with boarding or wheelchair-accessible transport, tell us when you book so we can plan the pickup, and arrange the VIA assistance separately by phone.
Child seats are free when requested at booking; please add the child's age and weight.

How far is Pacific Central Station from the airport?

Can you take me from Pacific Central to Whistler?
Yes. Whistler is about 130 km from the station, around two hours in normal conditions. A sedan is $610 to $720, a Luxury SUV $760 to $915 and an Executive Sprinter $1,075 to $1,290. Winter weather can add time.

Yes. Enter the train number when booking. Cascades arrivals from Seattle are international, so the included wait is 60 minutes from arrival. Amtrak publishes current departures and any schedule changes on its own website.
