An Ottawa YOW FBO limo is a chauffeured car arranged around a private aircraft landing at Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport and met at the business-aviation terminal rather than in the airline arrivals hall. The two fixed base operators we verified are neighbours on Comet Private, on the airport's own grounds, and they handle everything from corporate shuttles to visiting delegations. LimousineCanada.ca sends a chauffeur to the operator you name, with your tail number and estimated arrival time, so the handover is settled before you land.
This guide covers the Ottawa FBOs we checked against their own sites, fares to Parliament Hill, Gatineau, Chelsea and Mont-Tremblant, how the border step works for private arrivals, and how government and diplomatic travel is handled on the Canadian side. Prices are Canadian-dollar ranges before tax, with kilometres and drive time beside each trip. The online booker gives the exact all-in fare for your address.
Which Ottawa FBO will your aircraft use, and where does the car meet you?
Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier's verified business-aviation operators are Skyservice at 350 Comet Private and Execaire at 300 Comet Private. The chauffeur meets you at the door or gate your operator assigns. Give us the operator, your tail number and your ETA at booking, and we confirm the handover procedure with the FBO.
The airport is compact compared with Toronto or Vancouver, but the FBO addresses are close enough that a wrong guess still costs time, and each operator has its own gate and lounge. If a flight department or a protocol office is handling your travel, the operator is normally recorded in the trip sheet. If you do not have it, ask; it is the first piece of information a chauffeur needs.
Business-aviation operators at Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier
The table covers the operators whose own listings we reviewed. Operating hours are shown differently on different listings, so please confirm them with the FBO, especially for a late-evening or overnight arrival.
| Operator | Address | What the operator's listing says |
|---|---|---|
| Skyservice Ottawa | 350 Comet Private | Full-service FBO; passenger lounge, meeting rooms, Wi-Fi, crew rest areas; CANPASS customs clearing; hangar and on-ramp parking |
| Execaire Aviation | 300 Comet Private | Full-service FBO and Shell AeroCentre, as shown on Execaire's own locations page |
Read Execaire's description on the Execaire locations page. Skyservice publishes its Ottawa FBO details on its own website; it describes the base as having served the capital for decades and lists the services above. Operating hours are not consistent across the sources we reviewed, so treat the hours on any aggregator page with caution and ask the FBO directly.

From the FBO to Parliament Hill and downtown Ottawa
The City of Ottawa describes the airport as roughly 10 km south of downtown. By road, the route from Comet Private to Parliament Hill runs closer to 15 km, normally 20 to 35 minutes depending on the Airport Parkway, Bronson Avenue and the Queensway. Sparks Street, Wellington Street, the Rideau Centre and the ByWard Market all fall in the same fare band.
The minimum transfer applies on this run: a sedan is $145-$175, an SUV is $180-$220 and a Sprinter is $295-$355. Our Ottawa airport limo page covers commercial-terminal pickups for colleagues arriving by airline, and the Ottawa train-station car service page handles VIA Rail connections.
Sample fares from Ottawa FBOs

Government, diplomatic and official travel
Ottawa is the national capital, and official and diplomatic travel here follows its own procedures. Our role is the road leg: the car, the chauffeur and the logistics at the FBO. We do not arrange flight clearances, diplomatic privileges or airport courtesies; those belong to the Government of Canada.

Global Affairs Canada's Office of Protocol describes the rules on its website. Foreign state, military and scientific aircraft need diplomatic clearance to enter and operate in Canadian territory, applications are due at least three working days (72 hours) before the aircraft enters Canadian airspace, and late requests must explain the urgency. For foreign state aircraft landing in Canada, the Office of Protocol also runs the Canada Reception Centres at Macdonald-Cartier International Airport and administers the National Airport Courtesy Program. See the Office of Protocol's overflight-clearance page for the current process.
The National Airport Courtesy Program note describes courtesy and expedited clearances for senior visitors, requires a written request at least 72 hours ahead, and, for dedicated aircraft, asks for the details of the FBO where the plane will land. The note is dated 2012, so confirm current requirements with the Office of Protocol before relying on it.
How this affects the ground leg:
- Share the FBO and the arrival window early. Once the protocol office or embassy has the operator, we can match the vehicle to it.
- Tell us about security arrangements. If a security detail will follow in a separate vehicle, say so, and we will coordinate positions and routes.
- Plan for flexible timing. Official itineraries move. A delayed arrival is a change, not a penalty, provided we know before the pickup time.
- Discretion. Passenger names are used only for the booking and any FBO access list.
Customs and CANPASS at Ottawa
For flights coming in from abroad, border formalities are completed before the car is released. The CBSA's general-aviation process requires the pilot to call the Telephone Reporting Centre at least two hours, but no more than 48 hours, before entering Canada; the aircraft must land at an approved airport of entry during CBSA hours; the pilot calls again on landing; and nobody leaves until authorized. Aircraft carrying more than 15 people must arrange clearance in advance with the local CBSA office, and courtesy clearances for dignitaries are arranged in advance by CBSA Headquarters, not by the Telephone Reporting Centre. The details are on the CBSA general-aviation page.

Skyservice's Ottawa listing mentions CANPASS clearing. The chauffeur stays at the FBO until you are released; free waiting is counted from landing, at 60 minutes for international arrivals and 30 for domestic. Your pilot or flight department files the border report; we do not.
Gatineau and Chelsea: crossing the river
The Quebec side of the Ottawa River is a short drive but a different jurisdiction, with a bridge crossing that can be congested at rush hour. Downtown Gatineau, with its government offices and the museum district, is about 20 km from the FBOs. Chelsea, on the edge of Gatineau Park, is about 27 to 37 km from the airport according to published travel guides, and we plan on about 38 km from Comet Private. The route can be slower in the evening peak and after snowfall.

The same transfer works in reverse. If you stay in Gatineau and fly from Ottawa, tell us the hotel and the boarding time. For a longer run, Fairmont Le Château Montebello lies roughly 100 km east along the Ottawa River, and published distances from the airport range from the mid-60s to just over 100 km depending on the source; we plan on the upper figure and a drive of an hour and a quarter or more.
Mont-Tremblant from Ottawa
Mont-Tremblant is a long run from the capital: about 185 km from the airport according to one transfer operator's listing, and between two and two and a half hours by road, depending on the route. Other route planners give shorter figures from downtown Ottawa, so we plan from the airport with the longer distance in mind. In winter, add time for snow, and note that Québec's winter-tire requirement runs from 1 December to 15 March.
A sedan is $865-$1,030, an SUV is $1,080-$1,305 and a Sprinter is $1,530-$1,830 for the one-way trip. Ski parties should book the larger vehicles and give us the bag count.
Limo, O-Train, bus, taxi or rideshare: an honest comparison
Ottawa's airport has a light-rail connection and an all-night bus, both designed for commercial passengers at the terminal. Business-aviation passengers start at Comet Private, so the comparison looks different.
| Option | Typical cost | Time to downtown | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chauffeured sedan from the FBO | $145-$175 | 20-35 min | Officials, executives and delegations |
| O-Train Line 4 from the terminal, then Line 2 | Low transit fare | Longer, with a transfer; trains run 6 a.m. to midnight | Light-luggage travellers already at the terminal |
| Route 105 bus | Low transit fare | Longer, with stops; runs 24 hours, every 30 minutes | Budget travellers |
| Taxi | Metered | 20-35 min | One traveller with one bag |
| Rideshare | App price, varies | 20-35 min | Short notice, but may not collect from the FBO |
The O-Train and bus details come from the airport's ground-transportation page. The airport lists pre-arranged luxury vehicles at pillars 12 and 13 on the terminal curb, which is the commercial-terminal equivalent of what we do at the FBO. If you are light, close to a train line and not in a hurry, transit is cheaper; our national airport limo page covers commercial-terminal service. If you have a meeting, a delegation or luggage, take the car.

Choosing the right vehicle at Ottawa
The Executive Sedan seats three passengers with two large bags and two carry-ons. The Luxury SUV seats six with five or six large bags, and is the usual choice for official parties and families. The Executive Sprinter takes 12 to 14 passengers and at least 12 bags. Ask for a child seat in advance at no charge. Browse the fleet page, review hourly pricing on limo rates, or read the national private aviation overview.
Hourly service for an Ottawa day
For a day of meetings across Parliament Hill, Sparks Street and Gatineau, an hourly booking is often better value than separate transfers. Expect $175-$210 an hour for the Luxury SUV on a two-hour minimum, or $240-$295 an hour for the Sprinter on a three-hour minimum. The chauffeur waits at each stop, and routes across the interprovincial bridges can be planned in advance. Our general limo service page explains how hourly bookings work.
Departing from Ottawa
For a departure, the chauffeur collects you from the hotel or office with a margin for the Queensway and the Airport Parkway, and takes you to the operator on Comet Private. Tell us the FBO, the tail number and the boarding time. For early-morning winter departures, ask your flight department about de-icing queues and plan to arrive at the lounge, not the ramp.
Frequently asked questions
Which FBOs are at Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport?
Operators we verified are Skyservice at 350 Comet Private and Execaire at 300 Comet Private. Tell us which one handles your aircraft when you book, because the two operators have separate gates and lounges.
How much is a limo from an Ottawa FBO to Parliament Hill?
An Executive Sedan is $145-$175, a Luxury SUV is $180-$220 and an Executive Sprinter is $295-$355 for a run of about 15 km. Fares exclude tax, tolls and gratuity. Enter your address in the booker for the exact all-in price.
Do you arrange diplomatic clearance or airport courtesies?
No. Foreign state aircraft clearances and the National Airport Courtesy Program are handled by Global Affairs Canada's Office of Protocol. We handle the car, the chauffeur and the FBO handover, and we work to the timing your protocol office or embassy gives us.
Is the car allowed on the ramp at Ottawa?
Access to the apron is controlled by the operator and the airport. Depending on the FBO, the car may be allowed beside the aircraft or may wait at the gate. We settle this with the operator before the day.
Where does the border check happen before the car leaves?
For an arrival from abroad, it happens at or through the FBO, arranged by your pilot with the CBSA. Nobody leaves the aircraft until authorized, and you then walk to the car. Waiting is free for 60 minutes from landing.
How far is Gatineau from the Ottawa FBOs?
Downtown Gatineau is about 20 km away, and the drive takes 25 to 40 minutes depending on bridge traffic. A sedan is $145-$175 and an SUV is $180-$220. Chelsea is about 38 km and costs $180-$210 in a sedan.
How far is Mont-Tremblant from Ottawa's airport?
About 185 km according to one transfer operator, and roughly two to two and a half hours by road. A sedan is $865-$1,030, an SUV is $1,080-$1,305 and a Sprinter is $1,530-$1,830.
Is the O-Train cheaper than a limo?
Yes, the O-Train Line 4 is cheaper, but it starts at the commercial terminal and requires a transfer to reach downtown. A private-jet passenger would first need to travel from the FBO to the terminal.
What is the cancellation policy?
Notice of more than 72 hours is free of charge. At 72 hours or less the fee is 10%; at 48 hours or less it is 50%; at 24 hours or less, or for a no-show, it is 100% of the fare, all measured from the scheduled pickup time.
