Saint John is a port city that has been receiving visitors from the water for centuries, and Saint John Airport (YSJ) receives the ones who arrive by air on the high ground east of the harbour. A Saint John airport limo gives that arrival the weight it deserves: a chauffeur who has your flight number, a vehicle sized to your luggage and a fare you saw before you booked. LimousineCanada.ca covers the airport, the uptown core, the cruise berth, the Fundy coast and the highways to Fredericton, Moncton and beyond.
Saint John airport limo service at YSJ
The airport is operated by Saint John Airport Inc., a not-for-profit corporation, and its own website names the airlines it works with as Air Canada, Flair Airlines, Air Canada Vacations, Pascan Aviation and Porter. It highlights a Pascan route from Saint John to Montréal Metropolitan Airport that continues to Québec City. Terminal and curb arrangements are modest by big-hub standards, which is an advantage when you are the one carrying the bags.
The terminal address is 4180 Loch Lomond Road. From there our service covers three kinds of trip: the short run to uptown and the harbour, the half-day and full-day excursions to the Fundy coast, and the long transfers to Fredericton, Moncton and Halifax. All of them are priced as ranges below and confirmed in the booker.
How much is a limo from Saint John airport to uptown?

Saint John Airport is about 15 km from uptown Saint John, a drive of roughly 20 minutes. A pre-booked airport limo costs $145–$175 in an Executive Sedan, $180–$220 in a Luxury SUV and $295–$355 in an Executive Sprinter, before tax, because the minimum transfer applies on short runs.
The 15 km figure matches the usual published distance from the airport to the uptown peninsula, and the 20-minute drive assumes ordinary traffic on Loch Lomond Road. The longer destinations in the table rise with distance.
| Trip from YSJ | Distance | Typical time | Executive Sedan | Luxury SUV | Executive Sprinter |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Uptown Saint John | 15 km | 20 min | $145–$175 | $180–$220 | $295–$355 |
| Cruise berth and Market Slip area | 16 km | 20 min | $145–$175 | $180–$220 | $295–$355 |
| Fundy Trail Parkway entrance, via St. Martins | 50 km | 55 min | $235–$280 | $290–$350 | $410–$495 |
| Fredericton | 125 km | 1 h 20 | $580–$695 | $730–$880 | $1,030–$1,240 |
| Moncton | 145 km | 1 h 30 | $675–$805 | $850–$1,020 | $1,195–$1,435 |
| Hopewell Rocks | 165 km | 2 h | $765–$915 | $965–$1,165 | $1,360–$1,635 |
| Halifax | 430 km | 4 h 15 | $2,000–$2,385 | $2,515–$3,030 | $3,550–$4,255 |
These are planning ranges only; tolls, if any, are extra and gratuity is at your discretion.
Taxi, Route 32 bus or chauffeur: an honest comparison
The airport's website groups its ground transportation into three headings: rental cars, public transportation and taxi services. Saint John Transit's Route 32 is the bus that serves the airport, with a limited number of runs each day, so check the current timetable against your landing time. Taxis are the usual pick for a short trip to a downtown hotel.
| Option | Typical cost | Time to uptown | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Saint John Transit Route 32 | A standard transit fare, under a few dollars | 25–50 min, depends on schedule | Light-luggage travellers who can wait for the next run |
| Taxi | Metered; roughly $30–$45 to uptown as a guide, so confirm with the driver | About 20 min | One or two travellers heading to a hotel |
| Rental car | Daily rate plus fuel | Self-drive | Visitors touring the Fundy coast for days |
| Pre-booked chauffeured car | $145–$175 sedan, $180–$220 SUV | About 20 min | Cruise passengers, groups, late flights, set-time meetings |
If you are travelling alone with a single bag and the bus times suit your flight, the bus is by far the cheapest choice. If you are on a schedule, with children, with golf clubs or arriving after the last runs, the chauffeured car removes the risk. Choosing between sedan, SUV and Sprinter
An Executive Sedan takes three travellers plus two large bags and two carry-ons. The Luxury SUV seats six with five or six large bags and is the right answer for a family or a pair of couples travelling together. The Executive Sprinter seats 12 to 14 and carries more than a dozen bags, so it suits a crew, a wedding party or a conference group. A stretch limousine for 8 to 10 passengers is booked by the hour.

All vehicles can carry a child seat, free of charge, if you ask when you book. The fleet page shows the vehicle classes, and limo rates explains the arithmetic of per-kilometre and hourly pricing.
Cruise passengers: airport to ship and back
Saint John welcomes cruise ships every season, and the berth is a short run from the airport, about 16 km and 20 minutes. The common patterns are a flight in the day before the ship sails, a morning transfer from hotel to berth, and a post-cruise run back to YSJ for the flight home. Sailings are timed, and passengers can be delayed by customs or luggage handling, so we monitor the ship's schedule where you provide it and the flight number where you do not.
On a shore-excursion day, a SUV or Sprinter booked by the hour gives a small party the flexibility that bus tours lack. Our Saint John cruise port page covers the berth, the walk into uptown and what to do if the ship arrives early.
Planning a first visit to Saint John
First-time visitors often underestimate how much of Saint John is hill, harbour and weather. The uptown peninsula is compact, but the places worth seeing are spread across it and across the river, so a transfer plan helps more than a map does. Decide which of three days you are building: a cruise day with a hard sailing time, a business day with fixed meetings, or a holiday day where the Fundy coast is the goal.

For a cruise day, put the ship's all-aboard time at the centre and work backwards. For a business day, ask the hotel which entrance is easiest for a car and send it to the driver in advance. For a holiday day, check the tide and the daylight first. Any of the three can start at YSJ with the same booking, and the driver can adapt the plan if a flight lands late or a ship runs early.
Uptown Saint John: market, harbour and falls
The uptown peninsula is walkable and rewards a slow pace. City Market is described as the oldest continuously operating farmers' market in Canada, and Harbour Passage links the boardwalk to the museum on Douglas Avenue. Fort Howe offers a view across the city and harbour. The Reversing Falls, where the tides of the Bay of Fundy meet the river in strong rapids, are best seen from the free lookout.
A chauffeur is most useful here for the pieces that fall between walks: the airport transfer, a dinner in the north end, a visit to Irving Nature Park on the west side or Rockwood Park in the north. A two-hour hourly booking at $135–$165 per hour in a sedan, or $175–$210 per hour in a SUV, covers a short city tour with time to get out of the car. The Imperial Theatre on King Square hosts plays and concerts, and on show nights we recommend a timed pickup after the curtain.
The Fundy Trail Parkway and St. Martins
The Fundy Trail Parkway runs about 30 km along the coast near St. Martins, with more than 20 lookouts, beaches, waterfalls and an interpretive centre, according to New Brunswick Parks. The park says it is less than an hour from Saint John, which fits our estimate of 55 minutes from the airport to the entrance. Its listing for Fundy Trail Provincial Park is the place to check access, since lookouts and some features are closed for maintenance at times.

A full day by SUV is a comfortable way to see it. Allow eight hours: collection from the airport or hotel, a stop in St. Martins for lunch, unhurried drives between lookouts and a return before dark. At $175–$210 per hour, eight hours costs $1,400–$1,680 for the vehicle, shared among up to six passengers. Autumn colour and late-spring waterfalls are the highlights.
Hopewell Rocks and Fundy National Park from Saint John
Hopewell Rocks Provincial Park lies about 165 km from YSJ, a drive of two hours. The park publishes tide tables and warns visitors to check them, because the ocean floor is walkable only near low tide. Fundy National Park, which Parks Canada describes as having some of the highest tides in the world, lies between Saint John and Hopewell and can be combined with it. See Parks Canada: Fundy National Park and our blog guide to Fundy National Park.
Because of the tide, a day trip may mean leaving at dawn or returning after dark. We plan the day backwards from the tide table and quote it as an hourly booking with the driver on standby.
Intercity transfers: Fredericton, Moncton and Halifax
Fredericton is about 125 km and 1 hour 20 minutes, mostly by Route 7. Moncton is about 145 km and 1 hour 30 minutes. Halifax is about 430 km and 4 hours 15 minutes via Moncton and Truro, which is a long chauffeured day that some executives still prefer to a connecting flight.
Pair the Halifax run with the Halifax Stanfield Airport page, and if your onward trip is by air from Fredericton or Moncton, see our Fredericton Airport page and Moncton Airport page. Accounts for regular travellers are described on the corporate car service page.
Business travel and charters
Pascan Aviation's link to Montréal Metropolitan, listed on the airport's site, makes Saint John part of a network that business aviation also uses. If your party includes a charter flight to Saint-Hubert or another airport, our Montréal Saint-Hubert page explains what a ground handler needs. For ordinary corporate travel, a single driver can stay with the visiting executive for the full itinerary on an hourly or day rate.
Weddings and group travel
Weddings on the Fundy coast and in the Saint John river valley rely on guests arriving from several cities. We quote the guest shuttles from YSJ on a Sprinter by flight, and the couple's transport on a stretch limousine at $225–$300 per hour with a three-hour minimum. For 20 to 30 guests moving between ceremony and reception, a mini-coach is $300–$420 per hour with a four-hour minimum. See our wedding limo page.
Flight tracking, customs and delays
The airport is staffed by the Canada Border Services Agency for the occasional international arrival, and the free waiting window after landing is 60 minutes for international flights and 30 minutes for domestic flights. Tracking uses your flight number, so a delayed Air Canada Express from Montréal moves the pickup without a message from you. The CBSA's page on travel documents lists what each traveller should carry.
Fog is the other variable here. The Bay of Fundy generates thick fog in some seasons that can delay departures, and the airport's own website is the place to check status. Our drivers leave with a margin when conditions suggest a late arrival.
How to book and what to expect on cancellation
Enter your pickup, destination, flight number and passenger count in the booker and review the all-in fare for the exact address. Cancel with more than 72 hours' notice and nothing is charged. After that the scale is 10% at 72 hours or less, 50% at 48 hours or less, and 100% at 24 hours or less or on a no-show, all counted from the scheduled pickup time.
For a view of every airport we serve, start from the airports index or the airport limo page. Meet-and-greet inside the arrivals hall is an add-on of $100–$150.
