Oshawa Executive Airport limo: ground transport for the east-end field

Oshawa Executive Airport is a city-owned airfield in the northern part of Oshawa, in Durham Region, about an hour east of downtown Toronto when the 401 is behaving. It has no scheduled airline service, and that is the point: it is a place where charter, corporate, training and private flights land without sharing a terminal with thousands of airline passengers. What it does not have is the transit network that surrounds Pearson, so the choice of ground transport matters more here than it does at the larger airports.

An Oshawa Executive Airport limo from LimousineCanada.ca is a pre-booked chauffeur who tracks your aircraft, meets you at the FBO or aircraft-side arrival point your operator uses, and drives you to Toronto, to the Kawarthas, to Peterborough or to a Durham Region address at a fare range you saw before you committed. This page sets out what is verified about the airport, what that means for your pickup, and how the options actually compare.

Is Oshawa a practical alternative to Pearson for a private flight?

It can be, if your business is in Durham Region, Peterborough, the Kawarthas or the east end of the GTA. For downtown Toronto, Billy Bishop or Pearson saves roughly an hour of road time. A sedan from Oshawa to downtown is about 65 km and typically costs $300–$360.

The case for Oshawa is straightforward. Congestion in the Pearson corridor is a feature of Toronto life, and an executive whose destination is Whitby, Ajax, Pickering, Clarington or Port Perry has little reason to cross the whole city to land. The case against is equally plain: if your meeting is in the Financial District, the extra hour in the car is the cost of choosing the quieter field. We help clients make that call by showing both fares and both drive times side by side in the comparison table below.

What the City of Oshawa publishes about the airport

The City of Oshawa runs the airport and publishes a pilot information page at oshawa.ca. It gives the airport's address as 1200 Airport Blvd., Oshawa, Ontario L1J 8P5. It lists jet fuel and 100LL avgas, sold through a self-service card system, and it lists Canada Border Services Agency customs service on site by appointment. It also names a group of aviation businesses on the field, including Enterprise Airlines for charters, flight schools and maintenance shops.

We do not name an FBO operator for Oshawa. The city's page lists aviation businesses rather than designating a single handler, and the best way to learn who will meet your aircraft is to ask your charter company or flight department. Give us their instructions, and we will match the vehicle.

Runways, tower and the night window

For ground transport, three published details matter. The city lists runway 12/30 at 4,250 by 100 feet and runway 05/23 at 2,654 by 100 feet, and it lists tower, ground and ATIS frequencies. Runway 12/30 has been extended since that table was written, so ask your operator for the current declared distances rather than relying on a printed number.

More important for the road is the night restriction. Between 10:30 p.m. and 6:30 a.m., the city page says only police, medical and industrial emergency flights may land or take off, based tenants may land but not take off, and every flight in that window needs prior permission from the airport manager. A private jet scheduled for a late arrival may therefore divert to another field, and a chauffeur who tracks the aircraft will move with it. If you have a late-evening flight, ask your operator what the contingency is, and tell us.

Customs by appointment

The city's page states that CBSA customs is available seven days a week from 8:30 a.m. to midnight by appointment only. The Canada Border Services Agency explains its programme for pre-approved private-aircraft travellers, CANPASS Private Aircraft, on its own site. For a flight arriving from the United States, your operator books the clearance and tells you when to expect the officer. We simply hold the car: 60 minutes of complimentary waiting after an international landing, 30 minutes after a domestic one.

If customs runs long, you are not paying for the wait inside that window. If the flight is rescheduled, a short message to us is all that is needed.

Aviation businesses on the field

The city's page names charter, maintenance, parts and flight-training businesses at the airport. For a passenger, the practical meaning is that the arrival point depends on who is flying you. A charter customer is generally met by the charter operator; a corporate passenger on a company aircraft may be taken to the hangar; a student pilot's family collecting a graduate is directed to the flight centre. When you book with us, include the name of the company on the flight plan, and ask them where passengers are met. That one question prevents most wrong-door pickups.

Fares exclude tax. Tolls such as the 407 ETR are extra if the route uses the toll highway, and gratuity is at your discretion. The limo rates page lists hourly pricing for longer, multi-stop days.

Getting to downtown Toronto: the honest distance

Oshawa to the Toronto core is a long run for a ground transfer, and a chauffeured car is not always the best answer. If you have no luggage, a long lead time, and a destination near a GO station, public transit through the Oshawa GO station and Union Station can be economical, though it requires a separate trip from the airport to the station and does not suit tight schedules. A taxi or rideshare on this distance is likely to cost as much as a pre-booked sedan, with less certainty about the vehicle.

A pre-booked car makes sense when you are two or more, when you carry cases or display material, or when the meeting time is fixed. The sedan range of $300–$360 for downtown also buys a stable pickup time and a driver who is tracking the aircraft. See limo versus rideshare for the category differences.

Durham Region and Kawartha destinations

Most Oshawa business aviation is not headed to Toronto at all. Durham Region, whose municipalities are listed on durham.ca, starts at the airport's doorstep. Executives and families fly in for meetings in Durham Region's municipalities, for cottages in the Kawarthas, for a wedding in Port Perry or Port Hope, for an event at a golf club, or for a university visit. These runs are short and well suited to a sedan or SUV. We can plan multi-stop afternoons by the hour. Hourly rates start at $135–$165 for an Executive Sedan with a two-hour minimum, and $175–$210 for a Luxury SUV with the same minimum.

For wedding parties and event guests, the wedding limo page explains how a day is timed from ceremony to reception, and the corporate car service page covers invoicing.

Choosing between Oshawa, Billy Bishop, Pearson and Waterloo

Aircraft operators choose fields for runway, customs and handling reasons, but passengers care about the last mile. The table below compares the four private-aviation options in the greater Toronto area from the point of view of the car.

If your itinerary touches more than one field, for example a flight in at Oshawa and out of Pearson, tell us at booking and we will price the transfer as a single one-way run rather than two separate trips.

Vehicles and baggage for an Oshawa arrival

Small aircraft carry fewer bags than airliners, but they carry them differently: soft bags, golf bags, instrument cases and boxes of marketing material tend to arrive without a conveyor belt. The Executive Sedan suits up to three passengers; it holds two large bags and two carry-ons. The Luxury SUV takes six passengers with five or six large bags, and is the better choice if anyone is travelling with a golf set or a camera kit. The Executive Sprinter seats twelve to fourteen with twelve or more bags and suits a charter crew, a sports team or a small delegation. Take a look at the fleet page before you choose.

Child seats are free when requested at booking.

Winter, fog and the 401

Durham Region gets lake-effect snow, and the 401 corridor from Whitby to Pickering is among the busiest freight routes in the country. In a storm, a one-hour drive can stretch toward two. On those days we advise leaving earlier and booking a larger buffer, and we track road reports and your aircraft together. If the flight is delayed or diverted, the car moves with it.

Medical flights, family pickups and charter crews

Not everyone who lands at Oshawa is a corporate passenger. The city's own page notes that the airport handles police, medical and industrial emergency flights, and a family meeting a patient transfer has different needs from a sales team. Tell us if a pickup is sensitive, and we will keep the arrangement quiet and flexible. Charter crews who need a short run to a hotel or a restaurant can use the same booking, and a crew that is repositioning between fields can book a one-way transfer without a return leg.

How to book an Oshawa airport pickup

Send us the flight identifier or tail number, the operator, the expected landing or departure time, the number of passengers and bags, and the street address of the other end of the trip. We confirm the vehicle and the chauffeur's details in your booking, and we message you when the aircraft is on approach. The online booker returns the exact all-in fare for your address, so you can compare it against the ranges in the table before you pay.

Frequently asked questions

How much is a limo from Oshawa Executive Airport to downtown Toronto?

Downtown Toronto is about 65 km from the airport. A sedan is typically $300–$360, a Luxury SUV $380–$460 and an Executive Sprinter $535–$645, before tax and any toll.

Is there an FBO at Oshawa Executive Airport?

The City of Oshawa's pilot page lists aviation businesses on the field, including charter, maintenance and flight-training companies, but it does not designate a single FBO operator. Ask your charter company or flight department who will meet your aircraft.

Does Oshawa Executive Airport have customs?

The city's page states that CBSA customs is available seven days a week from 8:30 a.m. to midnight, by appointment only. Your operator arranges the appointment.

Can I land at Oshawa late at night?

Between 10:30 p.m. and 6:30 a.m., the city restricts operations to emergency flights and based tenants, and all flights in that window need prior permission from the airport manager. Check with your operator before planning a late arrival.

How long does it take to drive from Oshawa airport to Pearson?

About 90 km, usually 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes depending on traffic. A sedan is typically $420–$500, an SUV $525–$635.

Do you wait if my flight is late?

Yes. We track the flight, and we hold the car free for 30 minutes after a domestic landing and 60 minutes after an international landing.

Is a private car better than GO Transit from Oshawa?

For a single traveller with a light bag and no deadline, transit can be the cheaper way into Toronto. For groups, luggage or fixed meeting times, a pre-booked car is more dependable.

Can you take us to the Kawarthas or Peterborough?

Yes. Peterborough is about 60 km away, with sedan fares of $280–$335, and we price longer cottage runs per kilometre or by the hour.

Can you pick up a family from a medical flight?

Yes. Tell us the circumstances when you book, and we will plan a quiet, flexible pickup.
