A Pearson airport limo from LimousineCanada.ca is a pre-booked black car, SUV or Sprinter that meets you at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ), tracks your flight and takes you door to door. A sedan transfer starts at $145 plus tax. You choose the vehicle, we tell you where your chauffeur is waiting, and the fare is confirmed before you travel.

Pearson has two passenger terminals that are not joined airside, and each has its own pickup doors. This page explains which terminal your airline uses, where a pre-arranged limousine picks up, how customs timing affects your wait, and what a limo to Pearson airport costs compared with the UP Express, a taxi and a rideshare. If a cheaper option is the better choice, we say so.

How much is a Pearson airport limo from YYZ?

A Pearson airport limo from LimousineCanada.ca starts at $145 to $175 for an Executive Sedan and $180 to $220 for a Luxury SUV, before tax. Downtown Toronto is about 31 km, so it falls on the minimum. A Sprinter for 12 to 14 passengers starts at $295 to $355.

Each vehicle has a per-kilometre rate and a minimum transfer. The fare is distance multiplied by rate, never less than the minimum, rounded to the nearest $5. A sedan is $4.65 to $5.55 per km with a $145 to $175 minimum, and a Luxury SUV is $5.85 to $7.05 per km with a $180 to $220 minimum. Prices exclude tax, tolls such as the 407 ETR, and gratuity, which is at your discretion.

The online booker gives the exact all-in fare for your address, and the ranges here let you budget first. See limo rates for the full rate card and the fleet for the vehicles.

Pearson airport limo rates: fares from YYZ to 18 destinations

Distances are by road from the airport. Drive times run from light traffic to heavy traffic, because the 401, the 427 and the QEW can double a trip at rush hour. Every figure is a range in Canadian dollars before tax.

Anything under roughly 30 km sits on the minimum, so a 14 km run to Mississauga City Centre costs the same as a 30 km run to downtown. If you want the 407 for speed, the toll is added on top. A Sprinter for 12 to 14 passengers uses the same distances at $8.25 to $9.90 per km, with a $295 to $355 minimum. On long runs such as Niagara Falls, Collingwood and Buffalo, a stretch limousine or Sprinter booked by the hour can suit a group that wants to stop along the way.

Terminal 1 or Terminal 3: which one is your flight using?

Pearson has two active passenger terminals, and your airline decides which one you land in. The airport's own airline list puts Air Canada, United, Lufthansa, Swiss, Turkish Airlines, Emirates, Etihad, Air India and TAP Air Portugal at Terminal 1. It puts WestJet, Porter, Air Transat, Flair, Delta, American Airlines, British Airways, KLM, Air France, Qatar Airways and Cathay Pacific at Terminal 3.

A quick rule of thumb: Terminal 1 is the Air Canada and Star Alliance terminal, and Terminal 3 is home to most other airlines. Airlines do change terminals, so treat that rule as a guide and read the terminal on your booking confirmation. The official Pearson airline list is the final word.

If you are connecting between terminals, a free train called the Terminal Link joins the two. Your chauffeur meets you at the terminal where you actually arrive, not where your next flight departs, so tell us which one when you book. If you are not sure, enter your flight number in the booker and we will check it before your pickup.

Where a pre-arranged limousine picks up at Pearson

This is the part that confuses most travellers, because the airport runs two separate systems.

Chauffeur in a dark suit waiting at a doorway
Chauffeur in a dark suit waiting at a doorway

Pearson's published rules say that pre-arranged taxis and limousines pick up at Door A at both Terminal 1 and Terminal 3. There is a pre-arranged service desk inside each terminal at Door A, and the airport's instruction is to go to the designated area and tell the dispatcher that you are waiting for your ride. Licensed vehicles carry a GTAA plate on the bumper and a decal on the window, and licensed taxis and limousines may not pick up inside the terminals or parking garages.

Walk-up service is separate. On the Arrivals Level, regular taxis load at Door D and limousines at Door C in Terminal 1, and both load at Door E in Terminal 3. Uber Black and Lyft Lux also use Door A at both terminals.

For a booking with us, you do not queue at the walk-up limousine stand. We send your chauffeur's name and vehicle details before you land, and the message tells you how to find the pick-up. If you add the name-board meet-and-greet ($100 to $150), your chauffeur waits inside the arrivals hall with your name on a board and walks you and your luggage out. Without it, you follow the airport's Door A process and your chauffeur is waiting at the curb. Read the airport's own pages for pre-arranged services and taxis and limos before you fly, because door assignments can be updated during construction.

Customs, baggage and your free wait time

Arrival timing is the single biggest reason people book a pre-arranged Pearson airport car service rather than improvise.

Suitcases ready for a trip
Suitcases ready for a trip

An international arrival at Pearson normally runs in this order: you leave the aircraft and walk to Canada Border Services Agency primary inspection, where most travellers use a kiosk or an eGate. You then collect your bags and pass a final checkpoint on the way out to the arrivals hall. The airport does not publish an average for how long this takes, and it varies enormously with how many flights land together, so we do not promise a number.

What we do promise is the wait. On international arrivals, LimousineCanada.ca includes 60 minutes of free wait after landing, and 30 minutes on domestic flights. The clock starts at the actual landing time, not the scheduled arrival. If you are still in the customs hall when the free time ends, message us and we will hold the car.

After a long-haul flight, or with children and checked bags, consider the meet-and-greet add-on so someone is waiting with your name.

Limo to Pearson airport: departures and when to leave

A limo to Pearson airport is priced exactly like an arrival transfer, using the same distance table above. The difference is the clock. You are working backward from the airline's check-in and security time, so build in a margin rather than aiming for the minimum.

As a working guide, most travellers aim to reach the terminal about two hours before a domestic departure and three hours before an international or US one, with more time for early flights, holiday weekends and checked bags. Your airline's guidance overrides this. Subtract the drive time in the table, then add a buffer for the 401, the 427 and the QEW.

Your chauffeur drops you at the departures curb of your terminal, so confirm the terminal before you set the pickup time. A wrong-terminal drop-off can be fixed with the Terminal Link train, but it costs time you may not have. For morning departures from downtown, leave before commuter traffic builds on the Gardiner Expressway and the 427.

UP Express, taxi, rideshare or a Pearson airport car service?

Here is a plain comparison for a typical solo traveller or small group going between Pearson and downtown Toronto.

LimousineCanada.ca SUV or Sprinter$180 to $220 (SUV) or $295 to $355 (Sprinter) to downtown30 to 50 minutes by roadFamilies, groups, heavy luggage, mixed arrival times

The UP Express details come from Pearson's official page. The station is in Terminal 1, next to the Terminal Link. From Terminal 3 you take the free Terminal Link to Terminal 1 first, then follow the signs for the train to the city. Weekday trains from Pearson run from 5:27 am to 12:57 am, and weekend trains start at 6:27 am. Confirm times on the UP Express site.

Is an airport limo worth it? An honest answer

Sometimes it is not. If you are travelling alone with one carry-on, you are arriving between 6 am and midnight, and your destination is within a short walk of Union Station, the UP Express is faster than most road journeys at rush hour and costs a fraction of any car. We would tell a friend to take it.

A Pearson airport limo earns its price when you arrive at an hour the train does not run, carry two or more bags, travel with children or elderly parents, split one vehicle as a group, or head somewhere away from a station. It also wins when you need certainty: a confirmed fare, a driver who has tracked your flight and a child seat fitted at no charge are things a walk-up queue cannot promise.

For a group, divide the fare by the people. A Luxury SUV at $180 to $220 for four people and their bags is a different calculation from a solo sedan.

What the airport's taxi tariff shows for longer trips

Pearson publishes a taxi and limousine tariff map with fixed fares by zone. The February 2024 edition lists flat fares from the mid-$20s for the nearest Mississauga zones to well over $100 for the farthest city zones. Out of town it lists Hamilton downtown at $128, Guelph at $147, Kitchener at $177, Barrie at $177, Niagara Falls at $239 and Buffalo Airport at $314, all including tax. It adds $15 when a driver carries more than four passengers or excess baggage.

Those flat fares sit below our per-kilometre ranges on the longest runs, and we will not pretend otherwise. What you gain by booking with us instead is the ability to choose a sedan, SUV or Sprinter in advance, a fare confirmed to your address, a chauffeur waiting rather than a queue. Tariffs are revised from time to time, so open the current airport tariff rather than relying on a figure from a page like this one.

Choosing the right vehicle for your Pearson transfer

  • Executive Sedan: up to 3 passengers with 2 large bags and 2 carry-ons. The right choice for one or two business travellers.
  • Luxury SUV: up to 6 passengers with 5 to 6 large bags. The default for families, golf and ski bags, and anyone with more than two suitcases.
  • Executive Sprinter: 12 to 14 passengers with 12 or more bags. For wedding parties, sports teams and corporate groups landing together.

Child seats are free if you request them at booking. For a group that lands on several flights, one Sprinter with a single pickup time is often simpler than three separate cars. Stretch limousines and mini-coaches are priced by the hour.

Late flights, early flights and changed plans

We track your flight number from booking until you land. If the flight lands early, your chauffeur moves up and the free wait begins at the real landing time. If it is delayed, your fare does not change and the pickup shifts with the aircraft.

If your flight is cancelled or you miss a connection, message us as soon as you know. Our cancellation policy is measured from the scheduled pickup time: more than 72 hours' notice carries no charge, 72 hours or less is 10%, 48 hours or less is 50%, and 24 hours or less or a no-show is 100%. Update flight changes in your booking rather than cancelling.

Frequently asked questions

How much is a limo from Pearson airport to downtown Toronto?

An Executive Sedan from Pearson to downtown Toronto is $145 to $175, and a Luxury SUV is $180 to $220, before tax. Downtown is about 31 km from the airport, so it sits on the minimum transfer. A Sprinter for up to 14 passengers is $295 to $355. Tolls such as the 407 ETR and gratuity are extra.

Where do I meet my chauffeur at Pearson Terminal 1 and Terminal 3?

Pearson's published instruction is that pre-arranged limousines pick up at Door A at both Terminal 1 and Terminal 3, where a pre-arranged service desk is inside each terminal. Go to Door A and tell the dispatcher you are waiting for your ride. If you add the name-board meet-and-greet, your chauffeur waits inside the arrivals hall instead.

Which terminal does my airline use at Pearson?

The airport's list puts Air Canada, United, Lufthansa and Emirates at Terminal 1, and WestJet, Porter, Delta, American and British Airways at Terminal 3. Airlines can change, so confirm on your booking. Enter your flight number when you book and we will verify it.

How long will you wait for me after my flight lands?

International arrivals include 60 minutes of free wait after landing, and domestic arrivals include 30 minutes. We track the flight, so the clock starts at the real landing time. If customs is slow, message us and we will hold the car rather than release it.

Is the UP Express cheaper than a Pearson airport limo?

Yes. An adult UP Express fare is $12.35, or $9.25 with PRESTO, and the trip to Union Station takes about 28 minutes. It suits a solo traveller with light luggage. A limousine makes sense for groups, heavy bags, children, late arrivals and destinations away from the train.

Can I get a child seat in a Pearson airport car?

Yes, at no charge. Ask for a seat when you book and note each child's age and weight, so the right one is fitted before pickup.

What is your cancellation policy for a Pearson transfer?

There is no charge if you cancel with more than 72 hours' notice. After that, 72 hours or less costs 10%, 48 hours or less costs 50%, and 24 hours or less or a no-show costs 100%, all measured from the scheduled pickup time. If your flight changes, update the booking instead of cancelling.
