A Toronto Pearson FBO limo is a pre-booked chauffeured car that meets your private aircraft at the business-aviation terminal rather than at the commercial arrivals hall. Pearson has more than one such terminal, and they sit on different roads around the field, so the first job of a good transfer is matching the car to the operator. This guide covers the private-aviation operators at Toronto Pearson that we verified against their own websites, the fares from each to downtown Toronto, Yorkville, Muskoka and Niagara, and how the border, the highways and the weather shape your arrival.

Everything here is priced in Canadian dollars as a range, with kilometres and typical drive time beside each trip. Rates are before tax, tolls such as the 407 ETR are extra, and gratuity is at your discretion. The online booker gives the exact all-in fare for your exact address.

Which Toronto Pearson FBO are you landing at, and where does the car meet you?

Toronto Pearson's private-aviation operators include Signature and Execaire on Derry Road East, and Skyservice on Midfield Road and Flightline Drive. The car meets you at the door or gate your operator designates, using your tail number and ETA. Tell us the operator's name when you book, because the terminals are in different parts of the airport.

If your flight department has chartered or arranged the aircraft, the FBO is normally named in the trip sheet. If you are not sure, ask your pilot or the charter provider which operator is handling the arrival before you book the car. That one question saves more confusion than any other detail in this process. Once we have the operator, we confirm how that FBO prefers vehicles to be handled on the day, from gate procedure to which door the passengers use.

FBOs at Toronto Pearson: operators and addresses

The table lists the operators we verified from their own sites. FBO details change, so check hours and services with the operator before you fly.

OperatorAddressWhat the operator's site says
Signature Aviation2450 Derry Road East, MississaugaOpen 24 hours; on-site customs and immigration with limited weekday hours; conference rooms, showers, Jet A, de-icing; no overnight hangar or ramp parking
Execaire AviationHangar 8, 2450 Derry Road East, MississaugaFull-service FBO listed on Execaire's own locations page
Skyservice Toronto Midfield6120 Midfield Road, MississaugaOperates around the clock; lists on-site customs (CANPASS) clearing
Skyservice Toronto South5455 Flightline Drive, MississaugaNewest Skyservice facility; run for Skyservice managed-aircraft clients, so not a walk-in terminal for everyone

You can read the operators' own descriptions at Signature Aviation Toronto and the Execaire FBO locations page. Skyservice publishes the Midfield and South details on its own website.

Signature and Execaire share the Derry Road East address, with Execaire in Hangar 8. For a car, that matters little: both are reached from the same road, though the actual door you use is the operator's call. Skyservice's Midfield terminal is on a different road, and the South facility is a third location, so never assume that "the Skyservice FBO" is one place.

FBO to downtown Toronto: Bay Street and the Financial District

Downtown Toronto is about 30 km from the Pearson FBOs by road. In free-flowing traffic the drive takes around 35 minutes, and in the morning or evening peaks it can reach an hour. Executive towers on Bay Street, King Street and Wellington Street are all within the same fare band, as is Union Station.

For one or two executives with ordinary luggage, the Executive Sedan is the right car. The minimum transfer applies on this run: 30 km at the per-kilometre rate comes to less than the minimum, so the fare is the minimum itself. Add a team, bulky samples or a presentation case, and the Luxury SUV is the better fit. Our Toronto limo page covers city bookings beyond the airport run.

FBO to Yorkville and the hotels

Yorkville is the usual destination for guests staying in the city's luxury hotels and for people with appointments at the nearby galleries, boutiques and clinics. It is about 32 km from the FBOs, with a drive of 40 minutes to an hour and 5 minutes depending on the time of day. The chauffeur can drop at the hotel's main entrance, where a doorman will take the bags.

If the hotel has a private porte-cochère or a preferred arrival entrance, tell us in the booking notes. Some properties ask that vehicles use a service lane for large groups, and it is easier to know in advance.

Muskoka: from the FBO to the cottage dock

Muskoka is where many Pearson FBO passengers are heading on summer Fridays and holiday weekends. Gravenhurst is about 160 km from the airport and Bracebridge about 175 km, which is close to two hours each way in light traffic. Cottage-country roads are busiest when everyone leaves the city on a Friday afternoon and returns on Sunday evening, and the stretch of Highway 400 north of Barrie is where the slowdowns tend to appear. A midweek or early-morning departure removes most of the problem.

A chauffeured run saves the aircraft stop-off you might otherwise need at a smaller airport, and it keeps luggage, groceries and children in one vehicle. For a family heading to a lakeside property, the Luxury SUV is usually the right call. A larger party or one travelling with canoes, bicycles or stacked luggage should book the Sprinter. Remember that the fare covers the one-way run to the address; a return pickup is a separate leg.

Niagara: wine country and the Falls

Niagara Falls is about 125 km from the Pearson FBOs and takes roughly an hour and 20 minutes to an hour and 45 minutes, mostly on the Queen Elizabeth Way. The same trip serves Niagara-on-the-Lake and the surrounding wineries, although vineyard stops add distance and time. If you are planning a tasting day, an hourly booking (two-hour minimum on an SUV at $175-$210 an hour, three hours on a Sprinter at $240-$295) may suit better than a single transfer, because the vehicle waits at each stop and drives you onward.

Remember that the QEW can back up at the Burlington Skyway and near the Falls on summer weekends. Build in a margin if you have a dinner reservation, a show or a flight to catch from Buffalo or Hamilton.

Billy Bishop and Oshawa: when Pearson is not the closest airport

Not every Toronto-bound private flight lands at Pearson. Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport sits on the waterfront, minutes from the financial district, and is better known for scheduled service than for business jets; our Billy Bishop airport limo page explains how pickups work there. Oshawa Executive Airport, about 70 to 75 km east of Pearson by road, suits destinations in Durham Region, Peterborough and the Kawarthas. The CBSA's listing for Oshawa shows weekday office hours and a cost-recovery option for unscheduled general-aviation flights outside them, so ask your flight department which clearance arrangement applies on your date.

If you are connecting from a Pearson FBO to a flight at another airport, our standard transfer rates apply to that leg as well. The Pearson-to-Oshawa fare in the table above is a typical example.

Customs and CANPASS at Toronto Pearson

If your aircraft arrives from the United States or overseas, the border step comes first. Both Signature and Skyservice's Midfield terminal describe on-site customs arrangements on their own sites, and Signature notes that its customs presence has limited hours on weekdays, so a late-night or weekend international arrival may need to be arranged in advance with the FBO.

The general rule from the CBSA is that pilots report by phone at least two hours but no more than 48 hours before entering Canada, aircraft with 15 or fewer people aboard can use the telephone-reporting process, and no one leaves the aircraft until authorized. The CBSA's CANPASS private and corporate aircraft page sets out how authorization holders and non-holders are treated. Your pilot or flight department files all this; we just make sure the car is waiting at the FBO when you are released, and we count our included wait from landing: 60 minutes on an international arrival, 30 minutes on a domestic one.

Reading the traffic: 401, 427, 409 and 407

Pearson's FBOs are surrounded by some of the busiest highways in the country. From the Derry Road side, the route to downtown usually runs onto Highway 427 or the 401 and then the Gardiner Expressway. Morning inbound traffic and the afternoon outbound peak are slow in both directions, and a single collision on the 401 or 427 can add half an hour. The Highway 407 ETR is a faster, tolled alternative that makes sense for destinations north or east of the city; where it is used, tolls are added to the fare.

The chauffeur uses live traffic data on the day and chooses the route accordingly. If you want a specific route, say so in the booking notes.

Winter at Pearson

Between late autumn and early spring, plan for de-icing queues on departure and slower roads on arrival. Signature's own site lists de-icing among its ground services, which is helpful for departures, but a snow event can still lengthen the sequence from stairs to taxi. For a morning meeting after an overnight arrival, add a margin to the drive time rather than relying on the dry-weather figure. If conditions are bad enough that the best choice is to wait, tell the chauffeur and the plan adjusts.

FBO limo or UP Express, taxi and rideshare: an honest comparison

Pearson is one of the few Canadian airports with a direct rail link to the city centre, and for some travellers it is the right choice. It is, however, built for commercial passengers: the UP Express station is in Terminal 1, next to the Terminal Link Train, and travel to Union Station is 28 minutes according to UP Express. A private-jet passenger would first have to travel from the FBO to Terminal 1. So the real comparison is different from the airline one.

If the hotel is next door to the airport and you are travelling light, a courtesy shuttle may be all you need. The chauffeured car makes sense for downtown meetings, group travel, mountains of luggage, or any journey where the privacy of a car matters. Our Pearson airport limo and Toronto airport limo pages cover the commercial terminals if part of your party arrives that way, and the Union Station car service page covers the downtown end of the UP Express.

Choosing the right vehicle for a Pearson FBO transfer

The Executive Sedan takes three passengers with two large bags and two carry-ons, and is quick for a solo executive. The Luxury SUV takes six passengers and five or six large bags, which suits a team with presentation material, golf clubs or ski luggage. The Executive Sprinter takes 12 to 14 passengers and 12 or more bags, and suits crews, delegations and large families. Child seats are free if requested at booking. Compare the options on our fleet page, check hourly pricing on limo rates, or read the wider private aviation overview.

Departures: from the hotel to the FBO

Leaving Toronto is the reverse of the arrival. Your pilot or flight department will tell you the boarding time, and the chauffeur arrives with a buffer for traffic and the FBO's own procedures. Because the 401 and 427 can seize without warning, we plan a conservative drive time, and the lounge at the FBO is a far better place to wait than the roadside. If you are departing from the Derry Road terminals, tell us the operator and the name of the aircraft so the chauffeur is on the access list.

Frequently asked questions

Which FBOs are at Toronto Pearson?

Operators we verified from their own websites include Signature Aviation and Execaire Aviation at 2450 Derry Road East, and Skyservice at 6120 Midfield Road and 5455 Flightline Drive. Confirm with your flight department which one is handling your aircraft, and give us the name when you book.

How much is a limo from Toronto Pearson's FBO to downtown?

An Executive Sedan is $145-$175, a Luxury SUV is $180-$220 and an Executive Sprinter is $295-$355 for a downtown run of about 30 km. Rates are before tax, tolls and gratuity. The booker gives the exact all-in price for your address.

Can the chauffeur meet me at the aircraft?

That depends on the FBO's rules and airport security. Some operators allow a pre-arranged vehicle to meet the aircraft, and others have the car wait at the lounge or gate. We confirm the handover with the operator in advance and tell you what to expect.

How long is the drive from Pearson's FBOs to Muskoka?

Gravenhurst is about 160 km and takes roughly 1 hour 55 minutes to 2 hours 20 minutes; Bracebridge is about 175 km and 2 hours 5 minutes to 2 hours 30 minutes. Friday afternoons and Sunday evenings add time. A sedan to Gravenhurst is $745-$885 and an SUV $940-$1,125.

Do I need to clear customs before the car can take me?

If you are arriving internationally, yes. Border formalities are completed first, through the CBSA's telephone-reporting process or an officer at the FBO, and your pilot manages this. The chauffeur waits at the FBO, and we include 60 minutes of free waiting from landing on international arrivals.

Is it cheaper to take the UP Express?

Yes, the UP Express is cheaper than a car, takes 28 minutes from Terminal 1 to Union Station, and is the sensible option for a light-luggage traveller already at Terminal 1. A private-jet passenger starts at an FBO, so there is an extra leg to reach Terminal 1 first.

Can you take me from Pearson to Niagara-on-the-Lake or the wineries?

Yes. Niagara Falls is about 125 km from Pearson and Niagara-on-the-Lake is a little farther. A single transfer suits a straight run, while an hourly booking suits a wine-tasting day with several stops.

What happens if my arrival time changes?

Tell us. Give us the tail number and the new ETA, and the pickup moves with it. Because our free waiting time starts from landing, a late arrival does not cost extra as long as we know about it.

What is your cancellation policy for Pearson FBO pickups?

There is no charge if you cancel with more than 72 hours' notice. At 72 hours or less the fee is 10%, at 48 hours or less 50%, and at 24 hours or less or on a no-show 100%, all measured from the scheduled pickup time.
