Canada events limo guide: how to use this page
Canada's calendar of big events is packed into a few months of each year, and the transport problem is almost always the same: thousands of people want to reach one place at the same hour, streets close, and hotels fill. LimousineCanada.ca publishes a guide for each major event, written from the arrival point, whether that is an airport, a private-aviation terminal, a train station or a cruise port. This page is the index. It sorts the events by season, gives the usual timing, names the nearest hub and links to the full guide.
A chauffeured car is not always the right answer, and the guides say so. For solo travellers with light luggage, transit, a shuttle or a short walk is often cheaper and sometimes faster. A booked car earns its fare with luggage, groups, children, late finishes and fixed schedules. Prices are always ranges, in Canadian dollars, before tax. Short airport-to-hotel runs usually sit at the minimum transfer of $145 to $175 for an Executive Sedan, $180 to $220 for a Luxury SUV and $295 to $355 for an Executive Sprinter, and the online booker gives the exact all-in fare for your address.
What are the biggest events in Canada, and when are they?

Canada's biggest events run all year. Winter brings Winterlude and Carnaval de Québec. Spring brings the Canadian Grand Prix, Pride Toronto and the Montréal Jazz Festival. Summer brings the Calgary Stampede, Osheaga and the CNE. Autumn brings TIFF and the Grey Cup. Exact dates change yearly, so confirm on each official site.
The table below lists the dates I could verify from official sources while preparing these guides. Where a source did not publish a next-edition date, the table says so rather than guessing.
| Event | Verified timing | Nearest hub |
|---|---|---|
| Winterlude, Ottawa and Gatineau | January 29 to February 15, 2027 | Ottawa airport |
| Carnaval de Québec | February 5 to 14, 2027 | Québec City airport |
| Canadian Grand Prix, Montréal | May 21 to 23, 2027 | Montréal-Trudeau |
| Calgary Stampede | July 9 to 18, 2027 | Calgary airport |
| Festival d'été de Québec | July 8 to 18, 2027 | Québec City airport |
| Toronto Caribbean Carnival grand parade | July 31, 2027 | Toronto limo |
| Edmonton Fringe | August 12 to 22, 2027 | Edmonton airport |
| CNE, Toronto | August 20 to September 6, 2027 | Toronto limo |
| TIFF | September (2026: 10 to 20) | Toronto Pearson |
| Grey Cup | November 15, 2026, Calgary | Calgary airport |
Winter events: January to March
Winter festivals are the most weather-dependent trips of the year, so a warm, tracked airport arrival matters more than usual. Allow extra time for snow on every leg.

Winterlude in Ottawa and Gatineau
Ottawa Tourism lists Winterlude 2027 as January 29 to February 15, with ice sculptures at Crystal Garden in Confederation Park and snow slides at Snowflake Kingdom in Gatineau. The Rideau Canal Skateway opens separately, depending on ice. Nearest hub: Ottawa airport. Read the full Winterlude transport guide.
Carnaval de Québec
Carnaval de Québec runs February 5 to 14, 2027, according to the carnival's official site, with an ice palace, night parades and an ice canoe race. Dressing for cold is half the plan. Nearest hub: Québec City airport. Read the Québec Winter Carnival guide.
Niagara Icewine Festival
Winter in Niagara means tasting events at wineries spread across the peninsula, which is a classic case for a designated driver who is also a chauffeur. The festival's website lists icewine events, a discovery pass and a gala, with dates published on its events page. Nearest hubs: Toronto Pearson and Hamilton airport. Read the Niagara Icewine Festival guide.
Seasonal long weekends in winter
Several holiday weekends fall in this window. Our guides cover Family Day weekend, March Break travel, Valentine's Day evenings and St. Patrick's Day in Montréal. Statutory-holiday status differs by province, so check your own province before you plan.
Spring events: April to June
Spring brings theatre seasons, playoff hockey and the first big festivals. It is also when airport traffic rises ahead of the long summer weekends.

Stratford Festival
The Stratford Festival's website announced its 2027 season in autumn 2026, with member and general sales opening in the weeks after, and its theatre season runs from spring into autumn. The theatres are outside Toronto, so the trip suits a car with a driver. Nearest hub: Toronto Pearson. Read the Stratford Festival guide.
Shaw Festival in Niagara-on-the-Lake
The Shaw Festival's site listed 2026 productions running from April into October, plus holiday shows from November, in the Festival Theatre, Court House Theatre and Jackie Maxwell Studio Theatre. The 2027 lineup had not been announced when I checked. Nearest hub: Toronto Pearson. Read the Shaw Festival guide.
NHL playoff nights
Playoff hockey fills arenas from April into June, and the logistics change by building. Our guide covers arrival and exit planning for Scotiabank Arena, Rogers Place, Bell Centre, Rogers Arena and Canada Life Centre. Nearest hubs: Toronto limo and Vancouver limo. Read the NHL playoff nights guide.
Canadian Grand Prix
The Formula 1 race at Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve is listed for May 21 to 23, 2027 on the Grand Prix site. The park barred vehicles in 2026, so most spectators use the metro. Nearest hubs: Montréal-Trudeau and Montréal private aviation. Read the Canadian Grand Prix guide.
Pride Toronto
Pride Toronto takes place in June, centred on the Church-Wellesley Village and a parade day with street closures. The official site did not list 2027 dates when I checked. Nearest hub: Toronto limo. Read the Pride Toronto guide.
Montréal International Jazz Festival
The festival runs about ten days from late June into early July, with most shows free around the Quartier des Spectacles. Its own site currently shows June 25 to July 4, 2027. Nearest hub: Montréal-Trudeau. Read the Montréal Jazz Festival guide.
Spring holidays and long weekends
Spring weekends cover Easter, Victoria Day, Mother's Day and Father's Day and the prom and graduation season. Booking before the rush is the common theme.
Summer events: July and August
July and August are the densest months, and the same weekends compete for airport slots, hotels and cars. Book transport as soon as you book flights.

Canada Day in Ottawa
July 1 brings official celebrations in the capital, and the Canada.ca recap of the 2026 programme describes a national noon ceremony with live performances. Streets close, and the venue arrangements change, so check the current plan. Nearest hub: Ottawa airport. Read the Canada Day in Ottawa guide and the national Canada Day celebrations guide.
Calgary Stampede
The Calgary Stampede is listed for July 9 to 18, 2027 on the Stampede's dates page, with the parade on the first Friday, the rodeo and the evening show. The Park has C-Train stations on both sides. Nearest hub: Calgary airport. Read the Calgary Stampede guide.
Ottawa Bluesfest
RBC Bluesfest took place at LeBreton Flats from July 9 to 19 in 2026, according to its website, which now reads "See You Next Year" without 2027 dates. Nearest hub: Ottawa airport. Read the Bluesfest guide.
Festival d'été de Québec
The Festival d'été de Québec lists its next edition as July 8 to 18, 2027, and the one after as July 6 to 16, 2028. It thanked attendees for the 58th edition in 2026. Nearest hub: Québec City airport. Read the Festival d'été guide.
Osheaga
Osheaga ran July 31 to August 2 in 2026 at Parc Jean-Drapeau, and next dates were not yet published on the official page I opened. The metro is the best way onto the island. Nearest hub: Montréal-Trudeau. Read the Osheaga guide.
Toronto Caribbean Carnival
The Toronto Carnival's website lists the 2027 Grand Parade on July 31, with launch events from June 12 and showcase events through July. Nearest hub: Toronto limo. Read the Toronto Caribbean Carnival guide.
Just For Laughs Montréal
The festival's Montréal site last referred to the 2025 edition, and I could not confirm a 2026 or 2027 programme. Check before you plan. Nearest hub: Montréal-Trudeau. Read the Just For Laughs guide.
Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo
The Tattoo's website promoted its 2026 cast and did not show a cancellation. It did not give next dates in the text I could read. Nearest hub: Halifax airport. Read the Royal Nova Scotia Tattoo guide.
Edmonton Fringe
The Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival is listed for August 12 to 22, 2027 on the Fringe site, centred on Old Strathcona. Nearest hub: Edmonton airport. Read the Edmonton Fringe guide.
Honda Indy Toronto
The Indy website now reads "Ontario Honda Dealers Indy at Markham", and a post there reported on a race in August 2026. I could not confirm whether any race returns to Exhibition Place. Nearest hub: Toronto limo. Read the Honda Indy guide.
PNE Fair
The Pacific National Exhibition's website says the 2026 fair has closed and promises 2027, without dates. The fairgrounds are at Hastings Park in Vancouver. Nearest hub: Vancouver limo. Read the PNE Fair guide.
CNE and the end of summer
The CNE is listed for August 20 to September 6, 2027 on theex.com, at Exhibition Place, with GO and TTC options. Nearest hub: Toronto limo. Read the CNE guide. For summer weekends, see also the civic holiday weekend guide.
Celebration of Light, Vancouver
The Honda Celebration of Light was a musical fireworks competition at English Bay. Its website now says the festival is cancelled indefinitely. Our guide explains the status and a chauffeured English Bay evening instead. Nearest hub: Vancouver airport limo. Read the Celebration of Light guide.
Autumn and early winter events: September to December
Autumn is when the film festival, the football final and the holiday season arrive in quick succession.
TIFF
The Toronto International Film Festival runs in September, with the 2026 edition on September 10 to 20. King Street West closes for Festival Street. Nearest hubs: Toronto limo and Toronto Pearson private aviation. Read the TIFF guide.
Grey Cup
The 113th Grey Cup is on November 15, 2026 at McMahon Stadium in Calgary, with a festival at Stampede Park. The host city changes each year. Nearest hubs: Calgary airport and the airport limo hub. Read the Grey Cup guide.
Royal Agricultural Winter Fair
The Royal takes place every November at Exhibition Place, according to its website, and includes the Royal Horse Show. Nearest hub: Toronto limo. Read the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair guide.
Holidays from October to December
The autumn calendar includes Canadian Thanksgiving weekend, Remembrance Day in Ottawa, Christmas markets, Boxing Day shopping and New Year's Eve. Each has its own booking-early advice, because demand for cars peaks on the same few dates.
Events that have changed, moved or ended
Event calendars shift, and a few of the entries above carry a warning. The Celebration of Light in Vancouver is cancelled indefinitely according to its own site. The Indy race website now carries a Markham name. Just For Laughs in Montréal and the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo did not publish clear next dates on the pages I opened. Before you buy flights or a hotel for any event, open its official site and look for a dated notice, because tour packages and reseller pages can lag behind the organizers.
Events where a car cannot reach the gate
Several of the events above restrict vehicles on or near the site, and knowing that in advance saves a bad evening. Parc Jean-Drapeau barred vehicle access during the 2026 Grand Prix except for trips to La Ronde, and Osheaga uses the same island. TIFF's Festival Street takes over King Street West for several days. The Montréal Jazz Festival closes streets around the Place des Festivals. The Calgary Stampede gives its rideshare and taxi partners designated zones. In each case the right plan pairs transit or a short walk for the last stretch with a booked car for the airport, hotel and late-night legs.
How to choose between transit and a chauffeured car at an event
The honest answer depends on the event, the party and the hour.
| Situation | Better choice | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Solo traveller, light bag, hotel near transit | Transit or shuttle | Cheaper, often as fast on closure days |
| Family with children and gear | Private SUV | One drop-off, child seats free on request |
| Group of 7 to 14 | Executive Sprinter | One vehicle and one pickup point |
| Late finish after 11 p.m. | Pre-booked car | Avoids surge pricing and thinning transit |
| Event that bars vehicles on site | Metro plus car at each end | The Grand Prix and Osheaga model |
| Corporate host with guests | Hourly chauffeur | A fixed schedule across several stops |
Our fleet page shows what each vehicle carries, and the rate card lists every hourly rate. Event-night hourly rates start at $135 to $165 per hour for a sedan with a two-hour minimum.
Event arrivals by air, rail, ship and private aircraft
Most event travellers arrive at an airport, but not all. Guests who fly privately can use our private-aviation hub, and those arriving by train can use our train station guides. Cruise passengers can start at one of our cruise port pages. The full list of airports we serve is on our airports page. Whichever door you use, the logic is the same: a driver who tracks your arrival, a clear meeting point and a pickup corner agreed for the return.
How to book a car for an event
Book when you book your flights, and not after the hotel fills. Give us the flight number, the hotel or venue address, the number of passengers and bags, and the event time. Add a child seat at booking if needed. For events with closures, agree a pickup corner on an open street and a backup. If you are hosting guests, name one person who can change the plan on the day.
Our airport limo hub lists every airport we serve, and the limo service page explains the full range of services.
Frequently asked questions
What are the best festivals in Canada?
Which is best depends on the season and the interest. Winterlude and Carnaval de Québec are the main winter festivals, the Montréal Jazz Festival and Pride Toronto lead the early summer, the Calgary Stampede dominates July, and TIFF leads September.
What are the Calgary Stampede dates for 2027?
July 9 to 18, 2027, per the Stampede's own dates page.
When is the Grey Cup in 2026 and where?
The 113th Grey Cup is on November 15, 2026 at McMahon Stadium in Calgary.
Is the Celebration of Light still on?
No. Its own website says the Vancouver Fireworks Festival Society has cancelled it indefinitely.
How much is a limo to a festival from the airport?
For most city airport runs the minimum transfer applies: $145 to $175 for an Executive Sedan, $180 to $220 for a Luxury SUV and $295 to $355 for an Executive Sprinter, before tax. Longer runs are priced by distance.
Is a limo worth it for a big event?
It is worth it with luggage, children, groups, late finishes or guests to host. For a solo traveller near transit, it is not.
How early should I book for a major event?
As soon as your travel is confirmed. Event weekends are the busiest in the year, and flights, hotels and cars all sell out around the same dates.
What is the cancellation policy?
Free cancellation applies beyond 72 hours' notice. Inside that window the fee is 10% at 72 hours or less, 50% at 48 hours or less, and 100% at 24 hours or less or on a no-show, measured from the scheduled pickup time.
