A Chateau Lake Louise limo is a long, quiet drive that ends at one of the most photographed shores in the country. The hotel is at 111 Lake Louise Drive, and the road in from the Trans-Canada Highway is simple; what complicates the day is distance, weather, park rules and the crowds that gather on the lakeshore in summer. This page sets out what each transfer costs in a sedan, SUV or Sprinter, how it compares with shuttles, and how to add Moraine Lake and Banff without improvising. {cta:Get an instant fare|/book/}
LimousineCanada.ca stands apart from the hotel and has no connection to it. We use the name only to identify the address. Hotel details below are taken from the hotel's own site, and each is marked as such.
Chateau Lake Louise limo from Calgary Airport
The hotel's location page states the airport is 124 miles (201 km) away and about 130 minutes by car. We round that to about 200 km and roughly two hours, and in winter conditions we tell you to plan longer. For comparison, Banff Lake Louise Tourism lists the airport as 130 km from Banff and Lake Louise as 57 km further, so the two published figures broadly agree once you allow for rounding and the hotel's position beyond the village.
The hotel's directions are simple: leave the airport, join Stoney Trail and follow signs for Banff on the Trans-Canada Highway (1), pass the Banff National Park gates about an hour out, continue west to the Lake Louise exit, turn left toward Lake Louise Village and then go straight onto Lake Louise Drive.
| Vehicle | Distance and time | Typical fare (CAD, before tax) | |---|---|---| | Executive Sedan (3 passengers, 2 large bags) | about 200 km, 2 hr | $930-$1,110 | | Luxury SUV (6 passengers, 5-6 large bags) | about 200 km, 2 hr | $1,170-$1,410 | | Executive Sprinter (12-14 passengers, 12+ bags) | about 200 km, 2 hr | $1,650-$1,980 |
The online booker produces the exact all-in fare for the exact address, so check it before you confirm. Our Calgary airport limo guide explains the terminal and pickup logistics, and the Calgary FBO page covers private-aviation arrivals.
How far is the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise from Banff?

Lake Louise is 57 km from Banff, a drive of about 45 minutes according to Banff Lake Louise Tourism. A private Executive Sedan between Banff and the Chateau costs about $265 to $315 CAD, an SUV $335 to $400 and a Sprinter $470 to $565, before tax.
Allow a few extra minutes from the village to the hotel itself. If you are staying in Banff and visiting Lake Louise for the day, an hourly booking is usually better than a point-to-point fare, since the car waits through your canoe booking or lunch.
| Vehicle | Distance and time | Typical fare (CAD, before tax) | |---|---|---| | Executive Sedan | about 57 km, 45-50 min | $265-$315 | | Luxury SUV | about 57 km, 45-50 min | $335-$400 | | Executive Sprinter | about 57 km, 45-50 min | $470-$565 |
Read our Fairmont Banff Springs arrival guide if your trip includes both hotels.
The hotel itself: rooms, dining and what it is known for
The hotel's page lists 539 rooms and suites with views of Lake Louise and the Canadian Rockies, inside a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Restaurants and bars are described as seasonally inspired menus, with Afternoon Tea at the Fairview Restaurant. A weddings section, a spa and a family programme sit alongside the dining.
None of that requires a car once you are inside, which is why we focus on the arrival and the departure. If you need to confirm room types, check-in times or a package, ask the hotel directly; we do not have access to its reservation system and do not quote its rates.
Shuttle, transit, rental or private car: an honest comparison
The hotel itself says Pursuit runs scheduled shuttles from the Calgary airport to the hotel, with reservations required at least one hour in advance, and that the concierge can arrange other transport. Roam Transit's Route 8X links Banff and the Lake Louise lakeshore, which Parks Canada says runs year-round. The table puts those beside a private car.

| Option | Cost (CAD) | Time | Best for | |---|---|---|---| | Scheduled shuttle from Calgary Airport | per-person fare set by the operator | about 2 hr plus stops | Solo travellers, tight budgets | | Roam Route 8X (Banff to Lake Louise) | set by Roam | 1 hr 20 min from Banff | Day visitors based in Banff | | Rental car | rental rate plus parking | about 2 hr | Guests staying a week and exploring | | Private Executive Sedan | $930-$1,110 | about 2 hr | Couples, business guests, late arrivals | | Private Luxury SUV | $1,170-$1,410 | about 2 hr | Families, ski and golf bags | | Private Sprinter | $1,650-$1,980 | about 2 hr | Wedding parties, corporate groups |
The shuttle is the cheapest way to get to the hotel for one person. A private car costs more but leaves on your schedule, takes the bags to the door and can stop for a meal. If the group is three or more, the gap narrows. We say plainly: if you are alone, travelling light and can match a timetable, take the shuttle. For more on how a private transfer compares with a ride-hailing app, read limo versus rideshare.
Parking, valet and arriving at the lakeshore
For overnight guests, the hotel states it is connected to a partially covered parkade with plug-ins, with self-parking at $45 a day and valet at $55 a day. Those rates come from the hotel's location page and can change, so confirm them. Suites with one bedroom include parking, according to the hotel's accommodation page.
That matters because the public lakeshore is another story. Parks Canada's 2026 information says driving to the Lake Louise lakeshore is not recommended, that parking fills early and that vehicles are turned away when the lot is full. If you are a hotel guest, ask the hotel how it handles arrivals so your chauffeur can use the right entrance. Day visitors should use the Parks Canada Park and Ride and the shuttle instead.
Moraine Lake: what a private car can and cannot do
Moraine Lake is about 14 km from Lake Louise, according to Banff Lake Louise Tourism. Parks Canada's wording is that the road is closed to personal vehicles year-round, and only Parks Canada shuttles, licensed commercial operators and registered guests of Moraine Lake Lodge may use it. The lake itself is open June through October and closed November through May, and in winter the road is track-set for cross-country skiing.

The 2026 shuttle rules: the Lake Louise lakeshore shuttle runs May 15 to October 12, and the Moraine Lake shuttle June 1 to October 12, both by reservation, with an online booking fee of $3.50 and a phone booking fee of $5.50. A shuttle ticket does not include the national park entry fee. We therefore plan Moraine Lake visits around the shuttle: your chauffeur takes you to the Park and Ride at a time that matches your reservation and collects you when you return. If you need a private commercial option, ask us before booking and we confirm what is permitted that season. See the Parks Canada transit page and our guide to Banff, Lake Louise and Moraine Lake.
Winter at the Chateau: skiing, skating and snow
The hotel's own page highlights winter at the lake, with snowshoeing and gliding across the frozen lake, and says guests can ski at three nearby resorts, including Lake Louise Ski Resort. Roads in the Bow Valley can be icy or snow-packed, and a winter transfer from Calgary may take longer than the 130 minutes the hotel quotes. Check 511 Alberta and the hotel's advice on the day.
For skiers, an SUV or Sprinter matters: boot bags, skis or boards, and winter clothing quickly outgrow a sedan. State the count when you book so we assign the right vehicle. If you plan to ski on the day you arrive, ask for a pickup that lets you reach the hill after lunch, and book the return so you can still reach the airport comfortably.
Summer at the lake: canoes, trails and dining
The hotel lists canoeing on Lake Louise, at sunrise or during the day, and a Kids Adventure Camp. Afternoon Tea is served at the Fairview Restaurant with a lake view, and the hotel's menus are described as seasonally inspired. Its spa page lists Fairmont Spa Lake Louise and a self-guided thermal bathing experience called BASIN Glacial Waters.

In July and August, the roads and the shuttle queues fill. A good plan is to reach the Chateau before midday, leave the luggage with the hotel, and take a booked car or shuttle to Moraine Lake in the late afternoon or morning with a reservation. We advise against unreserved arrivals in the peak months.
Day trips from Lake Louise by private car
Hourly bookings suit the area well because the sights are spaced out and the schedule is yours.
- Moraine Lake, via the shuttle plan above.
- Banff townsite, 57 km away, for a dinner or shopping run.
- Yoho National Park, for Emerald Lake and Takakkaw Falls; read Yoho and Kootenay.
- The Icefields Parkway, northwards to Jasper; see Icefields Parkway to Jasper before you plan it, since services are sparse.
| Hourly block | Vehicle | Rate (CAD) | |---|---|---| | 4 hours | Executive Sedan | $540-$660 (from $135-$165/hr, 2 hr minimum) | | 4 hours | Luxury SUV | $700-$840 (from $175-$210/hr, 2 hr minimum) | | 6 hours | Executive Sprinter | $1,440-$1,770 (from $240-$295/hr, 3 hr minimum) |
The Banff National Park guide covers passes, seasons and wildlife rules. See the hourly chauffeur page for how waiting time is counted.
Lake Louise to Calgary Airport: planning the return
The reverse transfer is the same distance, about 200 km, and the same fare. The difference is that a missed connection costs far more than a late arrival. Build the pickup time around your flight: the two-hour drive, a buffer for weather and the time your airline asks you to be at the terminal. Many travellers target the terminal at least two hours before a domestic departure and three before an international one, but follow the airline's guidance.
For early flights we normally recommend a pre-dawn departure from the hotel, confirmed the previous evening. In winter, add a longer buffer or consider a night in Calgary before an early international flight; the Fairmont Palliser guide covers a downtown stay. Tell us your flight number and we track it for any change.
Weddings, events and groups
The hotel's site has a weddings section and lists meetings and social events but publishes no capacities on the page we read, so confirm numbers with the hotel. Guest transport usually breaks into three moves: Calgary arrivals, the shuttle between ceremony and reception, and the departures the morning after.
A single stretch limousine seats 8 to 10 passengers at $225 to $300 an hour (three-hour minimum). An Executive Sprinter takes 12 to 14 and a mini-coach or party bus 20 to 30 at $300 to $420 an hour (four-hour minimum). See wedding limo service for timelines and the fleet page for capacities.
Booking, inclusions and cancellations
Use the online booker with your flight, passengers and bags. Flight tracking comes with every airport pickup, along with 30 free minutes of waiting after a domestic landing and 60 after an international one. A meet-and-greet with a name board in arrivals is a $100 to $150 add-on, and child seats are free if you ask when booking. See the rates page for all vehicles.
If plans change, the charge depends on your notice before the scheduled pickup time: nothing beyond 72 hours, 10% at 72 hours or less, 50% at 48 hours or less, and 100% at 24 hours or less or for a no-show. Tolls and gratuity are extra. {cta:Get an instant fare|/book/}
