A Jasper Park Lodge limo is a serious journey rather than a short hop: the nearest major airport is about four hours away by road, and the lodge sits on Lac Beauvert at 1 Old Lodge Road, beyond the townsite. This page sets out the distances the lodge itself publishes, what a private sedan, SUV or Sprinter costs on each route, how the train and shuttle compare, and what the park's 2026 recovery status means for a visit. {cta:Get an instant fare|/book/}
LimousineCanada.ca has no affiliation with the lodge. We use its name only to identify the address, and every fact about the lodge below comes from its own pages, Parks Canada or Jasper's tourism site.
Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge limo: the two main routes
The lodge's location page lists the Edmonton International Airport as 389 km east of the lodge, a drive of approximately four hours, and Calgary International Airport as 438 km southeast via the Icefields Parkway, approximately five hours. Directions from Edmonton follow Highway 16 west (the Yellowhead), then Maligne Road toward the lodge.
Those two routes are very different drives. From Edmonton it is mostly Highway 16 across the foothills into the park. From Calgary it is the scenic option, with the Trans-Canada Highway to the Icefields Parkway, a mountain road with few services. Which one you choose depends on where you fly, the season and how much of the park you want to see on the way.
If your visit starts with a private jet, see the Edmonton FBO page; for commercial arrivals, the Edmonton airport guide covers pickup logistics.
How far is Jasper Park Lodge from Edmonton Airport?

Jasper Park Lodge is 389 km from Edmonton International Airport (YEG), roughly four hours' drive on Highway 16, according to the lodge. A private Executive Sedan costs $1,810 to $2,160 CAD, a Luxury SUV $2,275 to $2,740 and an Executive Sprinter $3,210 to $3,850, before tax.
That is among the longest hotel transfers in the country, and it is priced on distance. The lodge's directions list the same route, from Alberta 2 north to Highway 16 west, then Maligne Road. The page quotes two slightly different distances for the Highway 16 leg, so we confirm the final kilometres with you at booking.
| Vehicle | Distance and time | Typical fare (CAD, before tax) | |---|---|---| | Executive Sedan (3 passengers, 2 large bags) | about 389 km, 4 hr | $1,810-$2,160 | | Luxury SUV (6 passengers, 5-6 large bags) | about 389 km, 4 hr | $2,275-$2,740 | | Executive Sprinter (12-14 passengers, 12+ bags) | about 389 km, 4 hr | $3,210-$3,850 |
The exact all-in fare for your address is in the online booker. For a route page that covers the whole corridor, read Edmonton to Jasper.
Calgary to Jasper Park Lodge via the Icefields Parkway
The lodge states 438 km from Calgary via the Icefields Parkway, about five hours of driving. That figure does not include any scenic stopping; with stops at the Columbia Icefield, Peyto Lake and Athabasca Falls, it becomes a full day.
| Vehicle | Distance and time | Typical fare (CAD, before tax) | |---|---|---| | Executive Sedan | about 438 km, 5 hr | $2,035-$2,430 | | Luxury SUV | about 438 km, 5 hr | $2,560-$3,090 | | Executive Sprinter | about 438 km, 5 hr | $3,615-$4,335 |
Services along the Parkway are few, so the vehicle leaves with a full tank and a plan for meals. Our guide to the Icefields Parkway between Lake Louise and Jasper explains the stops, and the Calgary airport guide covers the pickup. If you break the journey at the Rockies' grand hotels, see the Chateau Lake Louise and Banff Springs arrival guides.
Train, shuttle, flight or private car: which is better?
The honest answer is that a private transfer is the most expensive option and the right one only for certain trips. The table sets out the lodge's own list of alternatives with a private car.

| Option | Cost (CAD) | Time | Best for | |---|---|---|---| | Airport shuttle (the lodge lists Sundog Transportation and Tours from Edmonton and Calgary) | per-person fare set by the operator | about 4-5 hr plus stops | Solo travellers, couples on a budget | | VIA Rail or Rocky Mountaineer to the Jasper station | set by the rail operator | scheduled service; check timetables | Guests who want the journey as part of the holiday | | Concierge-arranged taxi or private vehicle | quoted by the lodge's concierge | 4-5 hr | Guests who prefer the hotel to arrange it | | Rental car | rental rate plus parking | 4-5 hr | Self-drivers staying a week | | Private sedan from Edmonton | $1,810-$2,160 | about 4 hr | Couples with luggage and fixed arrival times | | Private SUV from Edmonton | $2,275-$2,740 | about 4 hr | Families, golf and ski gear |
The Jasper train station is in the townsite and is served by VIA Rail and Rocky Mountaineer, per the lodge's page. Parks Canada's getting here page also notes a daily Jasper-Edmonton shuttle and Brewster Express tours via Banff on the Icefields Parkway. If you arrive by train, a short townsite-to-lodge transfer falls at the minimum fare: $145 to $175 for a sedan, $180 to $220 for an SUV. See our Rocky Mountaineer page for station logistics on the train side.
Jasper in 2026: wildfire recovery and what is open
Parks Canada's "What's open" page, last updated on September 29, 2026, reports that Highway 16 fully reopened on August 20, 2024, and the Icefields Parkway (93N) reopened to vehicles on August 23, 2024. It lists Maligne Road, the lake and nearby day-hiking trails as reopened on October 11, 2024. The Icefield Centre information desk is closed, along with Cavell day-use and some campgrounds, so check before you plan a stop.
The lodge closed during the 2024 wildfire and, according to news coverage, reopened in October 2024; ask the lodge for its current operating status. The recent history is a recovery story, not a reason to avoid the park. Parks Canada says conditions may change, and a few areas remain closed, so read the current Parks Canada status page and check 511 Alberta on the day. Our Jasper National Park guide adds attractions and context.
Arriving at the lodge: Maligne Road, Lac Beauvert and parking
The lodge is a 700-acre resort, according to its own site. The address is 1 Old Lodge Road, and the route from the townsite follows Maligne Road, with signs for the lodge. It offers rooms, suites and cabins, and the hotel's page notes designated parking with cabins and suites and valet parking with some room categories. Parking otherwise is available for an additional fee.

Because the property is large, tell us which building or cabin you are staying in when you book. A driver who knows the cabin number can take you to the right door, not just the main lodge. Luggage drop is easy; the hotel handles the rest.
What the lodge is known for: golf, the lake and events
The lodge's site describes an 18-hole, Stanley Thompson-designed golf course, with a centennial package that celebrates 100 years of championship tradition and runs through October 10, 2026. On Lac Beauvert, the Boathouse offers canoeing, kayaking and paddleboarding in summer. In winter, guests skate on Mildred Lake and ski at Marmot Basin, which the lodge says is just 20 km away. The lodge also lists an Emerald Lounge, and a "Symphony Under The Stars" package with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra on October 16 to 18, 2026.
For golfers and skiers, that is a case for an SUV or a Sprinter. A Luxury SUV carries six passengers with five or six large bags; a Sprinter carries 12 to 14 with 12 or more.
Day trips from the lodge by private car
Booking by the hour suits the park. Most of the attractions are within an hour of the lodge, and the drive is the experience.

- Maligne Lake. Parks Canada says Maligne Road and the lake reopened on October 11, 2024; the boathouse picnic site and trailhead are open.
- Pyramid Lake. The trailhead, beach, island and riding stables are listed as open.
- Miette Hot Springs. Listed as open.
- Marmot Basin in winter, 20 km from the lodge according to the lodge.
- The Icefields Parkway south toward Lake Louise, for a very long day.
| Hourly block | Vehicle | Rate (CAD) | |---|---|---| | 4 hours | Executive Sedan | $540-$660 (from $135-$165/hr, 2 hr minimum) | | 6 hours | Luxury SUV | $1,050-$1,260 (from $175-$210/hr, 2 hr minimum) | | 6 hours | Executive Sprinter | $1,440-$1,770 (from $240-$295/hr, 3 hr minimum) |
Wildlife is part of the drive, and Jasper Tourism notes that the park speed limit is 90 km/h with slower areas for animals. Read the hourly chauffeur page for how stops are counted.
Winter and shoulder-season travel to Jasper
Both routes stay in use through the year, but the character changes. In winter, expect snow and ice on the Yellowhead and the Icefields Parkway, and the park's own road page asks visitors to use Alberta 511 for current conditions; it also warns that popular navigation apps are not always accurate for Jasper National Park. The lodge's winter offerings include skating, a "Christmas at the Lodge" package and access to Marmot Basin.
Our advice is straightforward. In deep winter many travellers prefer the Highway 16 route from Edmonton, since Parks Canada notes that the Icefields Parkway has steep grades of 8 to 11 percent near Bow Lake and Sunwapta Pass. Book your return with a buffer, and if one route closes we switch to the other in advance and tell you what that does to the time and fare.
Leaving Jasper: planning the drive to your flight
On the way out, the logic reverses. The four-hour Edmonton drive means a morning flight needs a very early start, and an evening flight may suit a relaxed lunch at the lodge before you go. Tell us the flight and we propose a pickup time; we recommend a generous margin for weather and wildlife on Highway 16.
If you are riding the train out, a transfer to Jasper station is a short run priced at the minimum fare. Guests who combine rail and road sometimes take the train one way and a car the other, which is how many people make the Rockies a loop rather than a round trip. Contact us through the booker and we price each leg separately.
Weddings, events and groups at the lodge
The lodge lists weddings, meetings and conferences, and social events, but its page we read gives no capacities, so confirm those with the lodge. For guests, the transport plan is usually a Sprinter from Edmonton for 12 to 14 people on a distance fare, plus hourly cars for the ceremony. Larger groups use a mini-coach at $300 to $420 an hour (four-hour minimum). Our wedding limo page covers how a timeline is built, and corporate car service covers conferences and incentive groups.
Booking, inclusions and cancellations
Book with the online booker, giving your flight, your passenger count and the number of bags. Flight tracking is part of the fare. We wait free for 30 minutes after a domestic landing and 60 minutes after an international one. A name-board greeter costs $100 to $150 more, and child seats are free on request. See the rates page and the fleet page for details.
Our cancellation policy works backwards from the scheduled pickup time. More than 72 hours' notice costs nothing. At 72 hours or less the charge is 10%, at 48 hours or less it is 50%, and at 24 hours or less, or for a no-show, it is 100%. Tolls and gratuity are extra. {cta:Get an instant fare|/book/}
