A Christmas market limo service suits a trip that is built around evenings: warm drinks, lights, crowds and a ticket with a time on it. LimousineCanada.ca books chauffeur cars for the airport run, the hotel-to-market transfer and the ride home, in the three cities with the largest Christmas markets in this guide. The facts below come from each market's own pages and from tourism offices, and where something could not be confirmed, the guide says so.

When are the 2026 Christmas markets in Toronto, Vancouver and Québec City?

In 2026, the Distillery Winter Village in Toronto runs November 12 to January 3, 2027. The Vancouver Christmas Market runs November 16 to December 24 at Jack Poole Plaza. Québec City's tourism office lists a Grand Christmas Market from November 21 to December 24. Always confirm on the market's own site.

The Toronto market has changed its name. The Distillery Winter Village describes itself as formerly the Toronto Christmas Market, and it takes place in the Distillery Historic District. If you search for the old name, you may find outdated listings, so use the current name when you plan.

Dates and ticket rules change each year. Everything in this guide reflects pages published for the 2026 season, and it will need a check when the next season is announced.

Toronto: the Distillery Winter Village

According to the market's site, the Distillery Winter Village runs from November 12, 2026 to January 3, 2027, with an opening-night tree lighting at 6 p.m. on Thursday, November 12. The address is 55 Mill Street, just east of Parliament Street and south of Front Street East.

Ticketing matters here. The site says tickets are required on opening night, from 4 p.m. every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, from 4 p.m. every Thursday in December, and from 4 p.m. daily from December 14 to 31. Admission is free all day Monday to Wednesday through December 13, before 4 p.m. on ticketed days if you are inside the gates by then, on Thursdays in November other than opening night, and for children aged 9 and under.

Ticket prices start at $16, plus HST and a service charge, and tickets must be bought online in advance, subject to availability. The site states that there is no on-site box office. Tickets are non-refundable but transferable. During ticketed hours, a dinner reservation or theatre ticket lets you skip the Winter Village ticket if you show proof.

For travel, the site recommends a short walk from Union Station, or the King and Queen streetcar lines. It also mentions the Distillery Loop on Cherry Street and the 504A King line.

Vancouver: the Vancouver Christmas Market at Jack Poole Plaza

The Vancouver Christmas Market runs November 16 to December 24 at Jack Poole Plaza, 1055 Canada Place, according to the market's site. Its plan-your-visit page sets out the hours: from November 16 to December 4, Monday to Friday 4:00 to 9:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.; from December 5 to 18, Sunday to Thursday 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 11:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.; from December 19 to 23, 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.; and on December 24, 11:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Tickets are timed. Single entry started from $7.99 in pre-sale and required a 30-minute arrival window. A season pass started from $32.99 in pre-sale and allowed unlimited visits with priority entry, and a family season pass started from $74.99 in pre-sale or $84.99 at standard prices. Children aged 6 and under were free. Pre-sale ran from September 21 to November 15, and standard pricing began on November 16.

Getting there is simple. The market's page lists Waterfront Station, served by the Expo, Millennium and Canada Lines, about a 10-minute walk away, and routes 19, 240 and 250 stopping near Canada Place. It also lists underground parking at Canada Place with direct access to Jack Poole Plaza, WestPark at 1055 Canada Place and a passenger drop-off zone at the foot of Howe Street. The Canada Place cruise terminal page is a good guide to the same area.

Québec City: the Grand Christmas Market and Old Québec

Destination Québec cité's Christmas page lists several 2026 events. The Grand Christmas Market runs from November 21 to December 24, 2026. La Parade des jouets is listed for November 14, 2026. The Salon des artisans de Québec is listed for November 27 to December 6, and the Marché du Noël d'Antan de Cap-Santé for November 27 to 29. The German Christmas Market appears with "Multiple Dates" and no location, so check its own site before you build a plan around it.

A street in Old Québec
A street in Old Québec

The same page says Old Québec turns into a Christmas village starting at the end of November. For the walking side of the trip, read our guide to Old Québec on foot, which explains where a car can and cannot go in the walled city, and the Québec City weekend guide for the rest of the visit. See Destination Québec cité's Christmas section for the list.

Montréal: what could be confirmed

Tourisme Montréal's winter page mentions the Great Christmas Market only in a photo caption and gives no dates or location. Its season for winter activities is listed from December 21 to March 20. Because those details could not be confirmed, treat any Montréal market date as unverified until the organizer publishes it, and check the tourism office's winter page.

Christmas market limo fares

Fares follow our published rate card, before tax, with tolls and gratuity extra if they apply. Distances are road kilometres, and drive times allow for December traffic.

Short trips sit at the minimum transfer. For a market evening with dinner, an hourly booking is often simpler: an Executive Sedan is $135–$165 per hour with a two-hour minimum, a Luxury SUV is $175–$210 per hour with a two-hour minimum, and a stretch limousine is $225–$300 per hour with a three-hour minimum. Use the rate card for the full list.

For Toronto, the market's own advice is to walk from Union Station or take a streetcar, and for a solo visitor that is the better choice. A chauffeur starts to win when you land that day, travel with children or older relatives, or want a door-to-door ride after a long evening in the cold.

Planning an evening around a ticket

Timed tickets reward punctuality. A practical plan:

Car headlights on a snowy forest road
Car headlights on a snowy forest road
  1. Choose the ticketed time and add 30 minutes for the car.
  2. Ask the driver to meet you 15 minutes before you need to leave.
  3. Allow for a drop-off at the market's edge. In Vancouver, the site lists a passenger drop-off zone at the foot of Howe Street.
  4. Set a pickup time that matches your plan, or agree to a rolling pickup.
  5. Keep tickets on your phone, and have a backup screenshot.

In Toronto, a ticket is required from 4 p.m. on the busiest days, so arrive before 4 p.m. if you want free entry. The Winter Village says guests inside the gates before 4 p.m. on ticketed days can stay free, which is a practical benefit for early diners.

Families, strollers and accessibility

Vancouver's market page lists wide paved pathways, stroller- and wheelchair-friendly ramps at the main entrance, accessible washroom trailers and complimentary stroller parking. It also states that certified service dogs are welcome in public areas and that non-service pets are not permitted. Caregivers of guests with a disability receive complimentary entry with valid accreditation.

Toronto's site does not detail accessibility in the section reviewed, so ask the market about step-free routes before you go. If you are bringing small children to the market, ask for a child seat at booking; it is supplied free, and each child's age and weight tell us which seat to fit.

Winter weather and what to wear

December in Canada ranges from mild rain on the West Coast to deep cold in Québec City. Dress in layers, wear waterproof boots and bring gloves. Outdoor markets mean standing and walking on cold ground, so thermal socks are worth the space in your bag.

The car solves one part of the weather problem. You step from a heated vehicle to the entrance and back again, so the walk through the cold is short.

A sample market weekend with a chauffeur

A realistic plan for two adults visiting Toronto from out of town:

  • Friday. Land at Pearson in the afternoon, ride about 33 km to the hotel, and rest. Keep the evening open, because Friday is a ticketed evening at the Winter Village and a dinner reservation can stand in for the ticket.
  • Saturday. Spend the morning at museums or galleries, and walk to the Distillery District before 4 p.m. to enter without a ticket. Have an early dinner, and leave the district as the ticketed crowd arrives.
  • Sunday. Ride from the hotel to the airport or the station for the trip home. Union Station is about 3 km from the Distillery, and the Pearson run is about 33 km.

In Québec City or Vancouver, the pattern is similar. Use the car for the long legs, and walk the last stretch, because markets sit on pedestrian squares.

Gifts, parcels and special evenings

A market weekend is a shopping trip as well as a night out. Handmade goods, glass ornaments and food gifts are fragile, so ask the driver to place them in the trunk or in the seat well, not loose on the rear seat. An Executive Sedan takes two large bags and two carry-ons, and a Luxury SUV takes five or six large bags. If you plan to buy bulky items, choose the SUV, and tell the booker before the trip.

For flights home, remember airline limits on checked baggage and on liquids in carry-on bags. A bottle of spirits or a jar of preserves that is fine in a trunk may need to go in checked luggage, so check your airline's rules before you pack.

Date nights and proposals. The markets are popular for date nights and proposals. A chauffeur car makes the logistics easier: the driver can hold the car at a quiet corner, and keep the cabin warm. Tell us about the occasion when you book, and we will plan the timing around it.

A stretch limousine seats eight to ten and costs $225–$300 per hour with a three-hour minimum, which suits a group celebration. For two people, an Executive Sedan at $135–$165 per hour with a two-hour minimum is the better value.

When to book. Market weekends and the weeks before Christmas fill early across the country. Reserve the car when you buy your market tickets, and confirm the details a few days before. Flight tracking is included for airport pickups, with 60 minutes of free waiting after an international landing and 30 minutes after a domestic one, so a delayed flight does not cost you the car.

Combining markets with other December plans

A market evening is only one part of a December trip. Our guide to New Year's Eve in Canada covers the end of the month, and the Boxing Day shopping guide explains the shopping side. In Toronto, the luxury weekend guide shows how to combine the market with dinner in Yorkville.

For arrivals, use the hub page for your airport. The Pearson airport page, the Vancouver airport page and the Québec City airport page set out the pickup points.

Groups and company parties

Company parties and extended families often want to visit together. An Executive Sprinter seats 12 to 14 passengers and costs $295–$355 for a transfer, around $25–$30 per person for a full twelve. For bigger parties, a mini-coach or party bus carries 20 to 30 people at $300–$420 per hour, with a four-hour minimum. The fleet page shows the vehicles.

Group tickets and group rates for the market are set by each market, so ask the organizer for details. Tell us the number of guests and the arrival time, and we will match the vehicle to the group.
