A March Break airport limo is the simplest way to start a family holiday without a parking-lot argument. Pearson is one of the busiest places in the country in the week of the break, and the people crossing it are not frequent business travellers. They are families with strollers, ski bags, grandparents and a cousin who has never been through security. A booked car with a driver who has the flight number lets the stress begin at the departure gate rather than the driveway.
The terminal curb is where our planning starts. This guide begins at the Pearson curb and spreads out: departure timing, return arrivals, the ski drive north, the Niagara Falls day trip, and an honest comparison with the train.
When is March Break in 2027?
Ontario's mid-winter break for 2026-27 runs Monday 15 March to Friday 19 March 2027, according to the province's school calendar. Quebec schools usually break in the first week of March, and British Columbia and Alberta set their own dates by district, so families often travel across several different weeks.
The Ontario dates are published on the province's school year calendars page, which also lists Family Day on 15 February and Good Friday on 26 March. After that the picture fragments:
| Region | 2027 spring break | How reliable is this? |
|---|---|---|
| Ontario | 15–19 March (mid-winter break) | Ministry calendar |
| Quebec | Usually the first week of March | Set by each school service centre; check yours |
| British Columbia | Often starts in mid-March; many districts run two weeks | Set by each district |
| Alberta | Varies; several divisions break around Easter | Set by each division |
Because the weeks differ, the same flight can carry Ontario families on the Sunday and Quebec families a fortnight earlier. If you are booking a car for a group from two provinces, confirm everyone's actual school dates before committing.
March Break airport limo service: what to book first
Fix the flight, then the pickup time, then the vehicle. In that order.

- Check your airline's own advice on when to be at the terminal, because cut-offs differ by carrier and destination.
- Work out the number of passengers and every piece of luggage, including strollers and car seats.
- Book the arrival transfer for the same trip so the return is not left to the last week.
- Add flight numbers so the booking is tied to the right aircraft.
The online booker shows an all-in fare for your exact pickup address. Prices are before tax, tolls are extra, and gratuity is at your discretion. For a full description of every vehicle, read the fleet page, and for the complete rate card see the limo rates page.
Departure day at Pearson: Terminal 1 or Terminal 3
Toronto Pearson has two passenger terminals, Terminal 1 and Terminal 3, joined by a landside link train. Which one you use depends on your airline, so read the terminal off your booking confirmation rather than relying on memory or a list from a travel blog. Tell us the airline when you book, and the driver will know which curb to use. The Pearson airport limo page explains the arrivals and departures routine.

Pearson's own March Break advice for families is practical. It calls the break one of the busiest travel times of the year, points to a live wait-times dashboard to check before you leave, and says passengers who need help should tell their airline at least 48 hours before the flight. Sunflower lanyards for people with invisible disabilities are available from the information desks in both terminals. If someone in your group needs a wheelchair or boarding help, arrange it with the airline before you reach the airport.
Planning the pickup time
A chauffeured pickup removes the parking, the shuttle bus and the drop-off line. What it does not remove is the time you need inside the terminal. Add the drive time from your address, the curb, bag drop, security and boarding to get the pickup time.

For an example, a 40 km run from the outer suburbs to the airport would price like this at the standard rates:
| Vehicle | Example run to Pearson (40 km, about 35–50 min) |
|---|---|
| Executive Sedan (3 pax) | $185–$220 |
| Luxury SUV (6 pax) | $235–$280 |
| Executive Sprinter (12–14 pax) | $330–$395 |
The 40 km distance is an example, not a promise about your address. Early-morning departures see lighter traffic than the afternoon, so the drive time at 5 a.m. is shorter than the same run at 4 p.m. on a Friday.
Coming home: the Sunday and Friday returns
The return weekend is harder than the departure. Planes land in clusters, customs queues run long on the busiest days, and children are tired. Flight tracking is included on airport bookings, so the driver follows the actual landing time, not the schedule. The car holds for an hour at no cost after an international landing and for half an hour after a domestic one. If your family clears customs slowly, that cushion matters.

A driver waiting inside the arrivals hall with a name board costs $100–$150 extra, which is useful when you land with luggage, a toddler and a stroller that has to be reassembled. Parents who have done one March Break return often book it for the next.
Pearson to Blue Mountain: the ski drive
Blue Mountain Village, at 156 Jozo Weider Boulevard, is about 1 hour 45 minutes from Pearson according to the resort, and a typical road distance is 160 km. The village is off Highway 26, about 11 km west of Collingwood.
| Vehicle | Pearson to Blue Mountain (about 160 km, 1 h 45 min to 2 h+) |
|---|---|
| Executive Sedan | $745–$890 |
| Luxury SUV | $935–$1,130 |
| Executive Sprinter | $1,320–$1,585 |
The first weekend of the break is a busy one on Highway 400 and Highway 26, so build in a buffer. The resort's plan your visit page also mentions a Flixbus from Union Station (Thursday to Monday only) and an activity shuttle that leaves from York Mills station; both are budget choices for a couple travelling light. For a family of five with ski bags the SUV or Sprinter is simpler. A comparable winter getaway is described in the Family Day weekend guide.
A Niagara Falls day trip for the in-between days
The week at home is easier when it contains one big day out. The falls are roughly 130 km from Pearson, and published estimates run from 75 to 90 minutes on a clear road to well beyond that in heavy traffic. A sedan is $605–$720, an SUV is $760–$915 and a Sprinter is $1,075–$1,285.
The Niagara Falls day trip guide explains how the day is usually planned. In March the falls themselves are open to visitors all year round, but individual boat tours and seasonal attractions may not be running, so look up each attraction before you set an itinerary. A chauffeured day trip lets the family warm up in the car between stops instead of waiting for a parking shuttle.
March Break in Montréal and Mont-Tremblant
Quebec families take their break early, and visitors who fly into Montréal-Trudeau often continue to the Laurentians. The airport is about 20 km from downtown Montréal, roughly 25 to 35 minutes by car, so the minimum fare applies: $145–$175 for a sedan, $180–$220 for an SUV and $295–$355 for a Sprinter. The Montréal-Trudeau airport page explains how pickups work, and the Mont-Tremblant village guide covers the resort.
The airport's STM 747 bus is the budget option, with a $11.25 fare that includes a 24-hour pass and departures from door 28 in the international arrivals area. It is excellent for a pair of adults with backpacks and cumbersome for a family of five.
Big families and school groups
A family with four children and grandparents is often more than a sedan and an SUV can carry. The Executive Sprinter seats 12 to 14 passengers and carries more than a dozen bags, which makes it the right tool for two families sharing a transfer. One vehicle means one driver to coordinate, one pickup time and one drop-off. At $8.25–$9.90 per kilometre against $5.85–$7.05 for the SUV, the Sprinter is more expensive per kilometre, but it costs less than two SUVs.
Mobility needs and extra help
March Break trips often include grandparents, and some of them need more than a wave from the kerb. Say at booking if anyone uses a cane, a walker or a folding wheelchair, so the vehicle is chosen with enough room and the loading is planned in advance. Assistance inside the terminal is arranged through the airline, not the car service, and Pearson's guidance is to tell the airline at least 48 hours before the flight. Settle that first, then tell the driver where the person will be waiting. A calm handover at the door is easier than improvising on a crowded departures level.
Car seats, strollers and small children
Child seats carry no charge when requested at booking. Provide each child's age and weight and mention any stroller, because a stroller occupies space like a large bag. A Luxury SUV holds six passengers and five to six large bags, and the arithmetic changes once car seats are involved. If in doubt, take the Sprinter.
How the alternatives compare
A private car is not always the most economical choice for a March Break departure. This table lays out the real options.
| Option | Typical cost | Time | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| UP Express, Union Station to Pearson | $9.25 with PRESTO, $12.35 without; children under 12 free | 28 min | Couples or small families starting downtown |
| Drive and park | Parking fees vary | Door to door varies | Short trips where you want your own car |
| STM 747 bus (Montréal) | $11.25 | 45–70 min to Berri-UQAM | Light bags, solo travellers |
| Executive Sedan to Pearson (40 km example) | $185–$220 | 35–50 min | Early flights, heavy luggage |
| Executive Sprinter to Pearson (40 km example) | $330–$395 | 35–50 min | Two families, up to 14 people |
If you are two adults leaving from downtown Toronto, the UP Express is faster than most cars at rush hour and far cheaper; the UP Express site lists fares and schedules, and its station sits in Terminal 1. From Terminal 3 you take the free link train to Terminal 1 first. A family of five with a stroller and four suitcases is different.
A sample March Break week
First Saturday: depart for the sun at an early hour, with a car at the door and a driver who has the flight number. Then a week abroad. Second Saturday: land at night, collect the bags, and let a name-board driver handle the arrivals hall. For a staycation week, replace the flight with a ski day at Blue Mountain or a day at the falls.
If a second holiday trip is on the calendar, the Easter weekend guide follows on from this one, since Good Friday in 2027 is 26 March, only a week after the break ends.
Booking early
The week of the break is a peak for airports and a peak for drivers. Book the departure and the return together, add the flight numbers, and list the number of children and bags. The online booker gives the all-in fare for the exact address, so use the ranges here for planning and the booker for the final number.
Frequently asked questions
When is March Break in Ontario in 2027?
Ontario's mid-winter break runs from Monday 15 March to Friday 19 March 2027, according to the Ministry school calendar. School boards may add professional activity days around it.
When is spring break in Quebec, British Columbia and Alberta?
Quebec schools usually break in the first week of March, while British Columbia and Alberta set dates by district. Many BC districts begin in mid-March and several Alberta divisions break around Easter, so confirm with your own school.
How much is a limo to Pearson airport?
For a 40 km run, an Executive Sedan is $185–$220, a Luxury SUV is $235–$280 and an Executive Sprinter is $330–$395, before tax. The booker prices your actual street address before you commit to anything.
How early should my driver pick us up?
Count back from your airline's recommended arrival time, adding the drive and the curb stop. Early-morning departures have lighter traffic, so the drive may be shorter than a daytime estimate.
Which Pearson terminal will my airline use?
Pearson has Terminal 1 and Terminal 3, joined by a landside link train. Your booking confirmation names the terminal, and you should give the airline to the booking team so the driver uses the right curb.
Is the UP Express cheaper than a limo?
Yes. It costs $9.25 with PRESTO or $12.35 otherwise, and children under 12 ride free. It takes about 28 minutes between Pearson and Union Station, but it does not help families starting far from downtown.
How far is Blue Mountain from Pearson?
The resort quotes about 1 hour 45 minutes from Pearson, and a typical road distance is 160 km. Friday afternoons and snowy weekends can add significantly to that.
Do you provide car seats for March Break trips?
Child seats are free when requested in advance. Include the child's age, weight and any stroller in your booking notes.
