Which entrance should a Shangri-La Toronto limo use?
The hotel's address is 188 University Avenue, but its website places the main entrance on Simcoe Street between Richmond and Adelaide. Tell your chauffeur both, book the pickup under the hotel's name and let the doorstaff direct the final metres.
That single detail is worth the first paragraph of any Shangri-La Toronto car service guide. A driver who follows the University Avenue address alone may look for the door in the wrong place, and a guest waiting on University Avenue can miss a car that is idling on Simcoe Street. Naming the entrance in your booking removes the problem.
LimousineCanada.ca has no affiliation with Shangri-La Hotels and does not speak for the property. We describe the hotel only so that your transfer is accurate, and every hotel fact below is taken from the hotel's published pages.
What the hotel's own pages say about the building
According to the hotel's website, the Shangri-La Toronto occupies one of the city's tallest buildings and is a six-minute walk from Queen Street West, with the Art Gallery of Ontario, the waterfront and Yonge Street nearby. It lists 202 rooms and suites, a lobby lounge and the restaurants bosk and Mott 32. Wellness consists of the Miraj Hammam Spa and a health club. The hotel also states a Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star rating.

Its postal code on the hotel's own listing is M5H 0A3. Valet parking is available at additional cost, and the hotel offers express check-in and check-out. Rates, room descriptions and opening hours change, so confirm them with the front desk before you travel.
Shangri-La Toronto limo from Pearson (YYZ)
The Shangri-La does not publish its own distance from Pearson. It is about half a kilometre from the Ritz-Carlton's Wellington Street address, which gives 28.0 km on its own site, so 28 km is a fair planning figure. Count on 30 to 45 minutes outside peak periods.
At that distance the minimum transfer prices apply:
| Vehicle | Pearson to University Avenue (about 28 km) | Seats / bags |
|---|---|---|
| Executive Sedan | $145–$175 | 3 passengers, 2 large + 2 carry-on |
| Luxury SUV | $180–$220 | 6 passengers, 5–6 large bags |
| Executive Sprinter | $295–$355 | 12–14 passengers, 12+ bags |
Fares are in Canadian dollars before tax. Tolls such as the 407 ETR are added only if you ask to use them, and tipping is up to you. The exact all-in figure for your terminal is shown in the booker. Our Toronto Pearson airport limo page explains the terminals, and the airport limo hub lists every other airport we cover.
Included with each airport booking is flight tracking, plus a free wait of 30 minutes after a domestic landing and 60 minutes after an international arrival. A chauffeur with a name board inside arrivals is an extra $100–$150. Child seats are free when requested in advance.
Billy Bishop and the Union Station connection
Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport is on the island at 2 Eireann Quay, according to its own website, with a pedestrian tunnel, transit, a shuttle and pick-up options. The run to University Avenue is short, so a sedan is the $145–$175 minimum and an SUV $180–$220. Our Billy Bishop airport limo page shows the pickup layout.

Union Station, the VIA Rail, GO and UP Express hub at 65 Front Street West, is roughly 600 metres away by our measurement. Union Station's website says it opens daily from 5:30 a.m. to 12:45 a.m. If your train arrives within those hours, the quickest way up to the hotel for a light traveller may be a short taxi hop. For a family with luggage, a car waiting at the station avoids the queue; see our Union Station Toronto limo guide.
Honest comparison: train, taxi, rideshare, hotel car or private chauffeur
| Option | Cost | Time | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| UP Express from Pearson, then a short taxi | $12.35 adult standard fare plus a short metered fare | About 28 minutes on the train, then a few minutes by road | A solo traveller who travels light |
| Taxi from Pearson | Metered or zone fare, set at the rank | 30–45 minutes | Unplanned arrivals |
| Rideshare | Dynamic price that rises with demand | 30–45 minutes plus pickup time | Light luggage, no fixed schedule |
| Pre-booked sedan | $145–$175 | 30–45 minutes | Fixed schedule, receipts, late arrivals |
| Pre-booked SUV | $180–$220 | 30–45 minutes | Up to six passengers and big luggage |
| Pre-booked Sprinter | $295–$355 | 30–45 minutes | Delegations of 12–14 |
If cost is the only factor, the train wins. If your plane lands at 11 p.m. after a long-haul flight, the fixed-price car wins on comfort and certainty. For a plain-spoken comparison of rideshare and chauffeur services, see limo vs rideshare.
Dining and the lobby
The hotel's dining includes bosk, where the kitchen is described as working with seasonal Canadian ingredients, Mott 32, and a lobby lounge that shares bosk's setting. If you are meeting someone for lunch, say which restaurant, because the lobby lounge and the restaurants are different rooms.

A chauffeur is useful for the end of a long dinner. Ask the restaurant how long your table is reserved, and book the pickup for after that window. If you are hosting clients, tell the maître d' which car is yours and what time it is due, so the hand-off at the door is smooth and nobody is left standing on the pavement in January.
For a guest staying several nights, one useful habit is to book the airport departure at the same time as the arrival. Doing so fixes the price range while you are thinking about it, and avoids a scramble on the last evening. The departure can be changed later under the cancellation terms below.
Meetings, screenings and weddings
The hotel's events website lists a 42-seat screening room among its meeting facilities and links to separate wedding information headed "Say I DO with Shangri-La". It does not publish capacities for the main event rooms, so ask the hotel's events team for current numbers before planning guest transport.
Corporate guests often travel in waves. Book transfers by flight, not by event, so that each arriving person has a named car and a tracked flight. For weddings, our wedding limo page sets out a timeline: hair and make-up, the ceremony, photography stops and the reception. Hourly pricing is in this table.
| Vehicle | Hourly range | Minimum booking | |---|---|---| | Executive Sedan | $135–$165 per hour | 2 hours | | Luxury SUV | $175–$210 per hour | 2 hours | | Executive Sprinter | $240–$295 per hour | 3 hours | | Stretch limousine, 8–10 passengers | $225–$300 per hour | 3 hours | | Mini-coach or party bus, 20–30 passengers | $300–$420 per hour | 4 hours |
A four-hour mini-coach block is therefore $1,200 to $1,680 before tax. For a corporate programme, see our page on corporate car service, and the fleet page for capacity.
Queen West, galleries and the waterfront
From University Avenue, Queen Street West is a six-minute walk by the hotel's own count, and the Art Gallery of Ontario is among its listed neighbours. This is a district where walking is quicker than driving between most points. A car makes sense when you carry shopping bags, when the weather is poor, or when the destination is the waterfront and an event at the harbour.

December adds Christmas markets and light displays across the city, and the Christmas markets in Canada guide shows how we plan evening runs. In June, Pride brings parade closures to downtown; read the Pride Toronto guide before choosing your pickup time. On New Year's Eve, downtown crowds build near City Hall, and our New Year's Eve notes explain how to get home safely.
Winter wine country and day trips
Winter brings the Niagara Icewine Festival in January, which pairs well with a hotel stay. The icewine festival guide explains the format, and a sedan or SUV by the hour is an easy way to visit several wineries without driving. In warm months the Shaw Festival in Niagara-on-the-Lake is a natural theatre trip; see the Shaw Festival guide.
For a straight run to the Falls, the Toronto airport to Niagara Falls page compares every option. The rest of the city's services are on the Toronto limo page.
Sedan, SUV or Sprinter: matching the vehicle to the trip
A useful way to choose is to count bags first and people second. Three guests with two large suitcases and two carry-on bags fit the Executive Sedan, but four guests, or three with golf clubs, do not. The Luxury SUV seats six and takes five or six large bags, which makes it the default for a family or a pair of colleagues travelling with sample cases. The Executive Sprinter seats 12 to 14 with 12 or more bags and is the right call for a delegation, a band with instruments or a wedding party.
If you are between two sizes, choose the larger one. A bigger vehicle at a small premium costs less than a second transfer, and you are not left rearranging luggage on the pavement at midnight. Our fleet page has the details, and the limo rates card shows how the per-kilometre and hourly numbers build up.
Early departures from University Avenue
Mornings downtown move quickly once the commuter traffic builds. For a flight leaving Pearson at 7 a.m., we normally recommend leaving the hotel around 4:30 a.m. and booking the car the night before so the chauffeur is outside at the stated time rather than ringing from the lobby. For a mid-morning departure, a 6:30 or 7:00 pickup keeps you ahead of the worst of the inbound traffic on the Gardiner and the 427.
If your plans include a meeting right before the flight, tell the booker so we can add margin. We would rather see you at the airport with an hour to spare than see a promising day end with a missed connection. Airport departures use the same fare band as arrivals: $145–$175 for a sedan and $180–$220 for an SUV from this part of the core.
Groups, delegations and billing
When ten people land on four different flights, one big vehicle waiting at a single time rarely works. A more reliable pattern is to give each arriving flight its own car, sized to the party, with the chauffeur tracking that specific flight. Guests then walk out to a named driver instead of a queue, and nobody waits for a late colleague.
If everyone lands within the same hour, an Executive Sprinter is efficient: $295–$355 for the transfer in this price band, divided among up to 14 people. For a conference with a dinner afterwards, an hourly mini-coach at $300–$420 per hour with a four-hour minimum keeps the group together. Share the guest list and flight numbers when you book and we will build the schedule.
Business guests often need a receipt that matches an expense policy. Your confirmation and receipt are meant to show the pickup, the drop-off, the vehicle and the fare, so they can be attached to a claim. Assistants and travel desks can make the booking on someone else's behalf, and the passenger name can differ from the name of the person who booked. The travel desk page explains how agencies and assistants book.
What to expect on the day
Your confirmation names the vehicle class, the pickup time and the pickup address. On the day of travel the chauffeur follows your flight, and for hotel pickups the chauffeur arrives at the Simcoe Street entrance a few minutes early. If you want to confirm anything with the front desk before leaving, do it the night before.
Keep the booking name consistent with the person in the car. If an assistant booked for you, put your name in the passenger field so the chauffeur recognises you at the door.
Cancellation and changes
Cancellations are measured against the scheduled pickup time. Cancel with more than 72 hours' notice and nothing is charged. Within 72 hours the fee is 10% of the fare, within 48 hours it is 50%, and within 24 hours, or if you do not appear, the full fare is due.
If your plans shift, tell us as early as possible. A moved flight is usually just a note on the booking. Read our why LimousineCanada.ca page for what direct booking changes.

Frequently asked questions
Where is the Shangri-La Toronto main entrance?
The hotel's website places it on Simcoe Street between Richmond and Adelaide, while the street address is 188 University Avenue. Give your chauffeur both.
How much is a limo from Pearson to the Shangri-La Toronto?
Roughly 28 km, 30 to 45 minutes on the road. The sedan minimum of $145–$175 applies, with $180–$220 for an SUV and $295–$355 for a Sprinter, all before tax.
Is there valet parking at the Shangri-La Toronto?
The hotel states that valet parking is available at an additional charge. Confirm the nightly rate with the hotel.
Can you pick up at Union Station and take me to the hotel?
Yes. Union Station is about 600 metres from the hotel, so the fare is the minimum: $145–$175 for a sedan and $180–$220 for an SUV. For a solo traveller, a short taxi ride may be cheaper.
How many rooms does the hotel have?
The hotel's website lists 202 rooms and suites.
Can I hire a car by the hour for Niagara icewine wineries?
Yes. A sedan by the hour is $135–$165 with a two-hour minimum, and a Luxury SUV is $175–$210 on the same minimum, so a winery afternoon starts around $270.
What if my flight is early or late?
The chauffeur follows the aircraft, so an early or late landing changes the pickup automatically. Domestic arrivals get a 30-minute free wait and international arrivals an hour.
Can an assistant book the car for me?
Yes. The person making the booking can enter your name as the passenger, and the receipt can go to a different address. Agencies and travel desks use the same booker.
